Can you hear my heart beat? Tired of feeling, never enough
-
Viktor"We have Yuuri Katsuki's scores: 221.58! That makes his overall score 319.41! He's broken Viktor Nikiforov's world record and is currently in first place!"
"Yuuri," I say, embracing him. "Having both Yuri's beat my record is a bliss as your choreographer and coach, but it's the ultimate diss as a competitor." "Does that mean you're coming back!?" Yuuri asks, excited. I just gaze back at him and smile. He's made me so proud I'm almost going to start crying. Whether or not he wins gold here, I will never regret the decisions I made this season with him.
Once we have made it out of the kiss-and-cry, interviewers try to surround us but Yuuri isn't letting them. He takes my hand and pulls me along the hallway and out of the door at the end to the stairwell. "Yuuri," I say quietly, the two of us still walking hand-in-hand, "where are you taking me?" "Just down into the parking-lot. Somewhere quieter, less crowded..." This boy never ceases to surprise me. I wonder what he could be planning now.
We exit the stairwell and enter the parking lot. Yuuri stops and pulls me close, still holding my hand. "Viktor," he says. I hum in response. "Can you hear my heart beat? It's pounding inside me, Viktor. It feels like it's going 200 beats per minute."
"I understand how you feel Yuuri. It's exhilarating, isn't it? Putting on a performance as beautiful and enthralling as the one you have shown tonight will leave everyone with a pounding heart. Mine was while you were skating out there." I smiled at him. I could tell he was feeling a bit nervous, but I couldn't tell why. What is on your mind, Yuuri?...
Yuuri sighed and looked up at me, gazing into my eyes. I gazed back into his. I didn't notice his face getting closer and closer to mine until I could feel his breath right on my lips. "Yuuri, I-" I started, but was quickly cut off as Yuuri pressed his lips onto mine and held onto me tightly. I held him in return, but I was shocked. I felt a spark as soon as his lips met mine, and then I knew.
"Viktor," he said as he pulled away, "I don't regret that, and I never will. I was always tired of feeling like I was never enough, but with you Viktor, I feel like I am enough." "Oh Yuuri..." I whispered under my breath, barely audible.
Yuuri did the complete unexpected next. He got down on one knee and took my hand, running his thumb over my ring. "Viktor Nikiforov, until you tire of me, I want you to stay with me. Wherever skating, life, and love takes us, I want you to be with me for as long as you're willing to be here.
"I know this is dumb and is kind of like a marriage proposal," he chuckled a bit. "Yuuri." "But I mean it, as stupid as it sounds." "Yuuri," I said again, louder. "I- Yes?" I pulled him to his feet and hugged him tight. "I'll be with you forever, if you want me," I whispered in his ear and kissed his cheek. Yuuri blushed.
"I- um- we should probably head back now..." he said in a small voice, smiling from ear to ear and still blushing. "Oh, of course. Let's go," I said, pulling him by the hand close to me, kissing him again before taking him back into the stairwell and out into the hallway.
