(Layla's POV)

(A/N it was hard to go through the chapters and calculate how long they have been dating, especially since it's felt like only a month or so.....but I counted the time skips and I went through each chapter to add it all up, the accuracy is pretty precise)

Despite the luxury of having so much time to be alone and think, January I'd been too exhausted to do much of anything, much less make a home cooked meal. Today was different though, today was special.

My head hurt from the tv screen, my eyes hurt from all the reading, and now it just felt like torture to sit on the couch and wait for Ashton.

The aroma of the room made it a little less traumatizing, mostly because I was cooking my absolute favorite dish.

I stood up and folded the blanket I'd been tucked under all afternoon. I had to tell myself all day long, don't you dare get sick, don't you dare get sick.

Honestly it wasn't working out for me because I felt like crap. My stomach was swirling, my nose running, my appetite in shambles, and to add onto it, I had the worst splitting headache from reading all the notes on my lap top for chapter 32-41

April, my editor, had been sending me emails with notes on things I needed to consider checking out on my book. I guess I'd fallen behind and she was getting a little pissy at me. Honestly though, she couldn't blame me.

My lap top was charging on my desk in the corner of the room, I couldn't help myself as I gave it a slight glare. It taunted me, sitting there looking all perfect while I was in a terrible condition, in which it partially caused. I felt like it was screaming to me You're so behind on notes! Haha! Let's make your editor even more mad!

I sighed with a deep breath, and suddenly I'm over whelmed with everything again. The reason behind my never ending stress and anxiety. The things that had to swallow my life of endless and meaningless torture.

In all the possibilities, I could of never really imagined what would happen when I walked through that door. I was no longer facing the fear of Ashtons family, no longer nervous to meet them. I had already conquered that earlier that day. Instead, I was facing Calum.

"What do you mean your already halfway to Washington!!" He shouted, his arms frantically waving around the room. "Where's Josie! I thought she was with you....I thought she was talking to you!"

Ashton and I gave each other that knowing look, the one that said that we both had no clue what he was so nervous about. I shrugged my coat off and set it aside on a table while I listened to him, almost clearly, scream to his friend. "Are you kidding me! This whole time she's been here? There's no way" He spat.

The muffling on the other end suddenly got clearer as I walked closer to Calum. It was Luke, and it seemed like it was heated discussion. "Look Calum, I don't know where your girlfriend is. All I do know, is that I had to get a flight to New Zealand, where I'm now waiting to board a plane to California, where I can then get another plane to washington. Mean while this is costing me a fortune just to get to her, and I won't make it until tomorrow." He was very stern and fierce, his tone had a low grumble to it. "The last thing I need right now is you accusing me of kidnapping your girlfriend"

"Okay enough!"

I jolted back, finding it really weird that Calum would yell like that to Luke. I'd never seen him so freaked out about something, and It was beginning to freak me out. The look in his eyes, it said all the words I needed. While staring at Calum intensely, he hung up the phone with luke and slammed it down on the kitchen counter. I jumped at the loud crack....it was going to need to be replaced now.
