I received a text from Evan that said he would be here in five minutes. My pulse quickened at thought of seeing him, it had been so long since I had seen his piercing blue eyes and broad smile. I slipped my shoes on and walked towards my front door careful not to make too much noise. I slowly and carefully turned the shiny metal door nob and stood in the rain waiting for him.
A green holden commodore pulled into my driveway.
He opened his door and I am met with his blue eyes that I have longed to see for so long.
"Evan" I whispered.
He ran his muscular hand through his dark brown hair. I didn't recall him being so built and muscular when I last saw him, he must have worked out at the gym.
"Charlie get in the car" he spoke softly in my ear.
For some strange reason I had a sudden rush of fear, chills ran down my back and my brain was awash of confusion, telling me to run back inside, back into my warm cosy, safe bed. I pushed the thoughts away and hopped into the car. The heavy rain pelted the windscreen and the sky was dark, thick with night. We drove to a park and sat on the grass hidden from the view of the public, not that anyone would be out at this time anyway. Evan's arms are wrapped around me, he is much stronger than I remembered. I nestled my head into his neck while I listened to the sounds of the night. I knew the danger of this, the first time I snuck out I was young and deathly scared. But now I am used to it, maybe even so that I preferred nighttime, it's so peaceful and when I tilt my head up towards the sky I see that the stars shine so bright they almost blind me.
"It's been too long Charlie" Evan spoke.
"I know Evan, I know. I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too Charlie"
I glanced at my watch it read 2:30am I felt him watch me in the dark. I love him, but sometimes he scares me. For the second time tonight I brushed off the thought.
Afraid that I might fall asleep I stand up and he does the same. We walk back towards his car and drive away from the park.
