People probably think of many different things when they hear the word drive, but I think of you.
I think of the small girl who would always look forward to the drives with her dad.
Who looked up to him like he was the greatest man in the world, and that she wanted to be just like him when she was older.
The little girl who was crazy and never really fit in.
But on those drives she fit in just perfectly.
With her high pitched singing and spontaneous dancing.
I think of the songs.
How the little girl had the time of her life singing with her dad, she left everything behind and could be herself.
I think that even as the girl grew older and became more self conscious she still looked forward to those drives.
The drives full of long talks and guidance.
The drives full of love and understanding.
I think of how the girl still looked up to her dad and wanted to be as he was.
He was wise in ways others weren't because he had his faults, she saw them and loved how different they were.
He inspired her to be better to stand up for herself and what she knew was right.
I think of the girl and who she is now.
She is the girl who has grown to love herself and be strong thanks to those drives.
The girl who isn't afraid to be herself anymore.
The girl who is making her own way confidently through life because she always knows she will have her dad.
The girl who is still learning.
The girl who will always look up to her father.
I am that girl.
