The Forest

The echoes of Ruby's engine could be heard as she drove through the forest. In her hands was a map that she got confused looking at it. "I wish my GPS was working, oh well, at least I'm sure of where I'm going...I think" Ruby spoke aloud to herself. Little did the poor scarlet gem know that she was holding it upside down.

Because of how long she'd been travelling, the sky was already showing its galaxy. The tall, slim trees blocked most of the moonlight out so Ruby had no choice but to squint and drive slowly and almost aimlessly. She forgot her headlights weren't fixed yet.

Through her mostly aimless driving and glances at her map which was impossible to see in this lighting, the short gem heard wolves. The wolves weren't far, they sounded rather close if anything. The howls seemed ghostly with the shadows and trees setting up an aura that Ruby did not like one bit. Despite her worries she drove more, just a little faster than before.

Everything is going to be okay, Ruby. She thought to herself in an attempt to keep her calm. It did work... until she heard wolves growls and snarls right next to her car. The sudden knowledge of the dangerous animals made her slam her foot down on the petal and fly off. She was starting to be thankful of her reflex but then all the proud vibes went away when she crashed straight into a tree.

Thank goodness the airbag wasn't broken too, otherwise Ruby would have been knocked out or worse. She got out of the car as quick as she could and ran through the woods which was now getting drenched in the rain.

Whilst running she came to a gate to which she grabbed tightly and tried to get in. As the wolves were still chasing her, she leaned against the gate in fear, only to have it push behind her. The little one pushed it shut and just managed to reach a big rock and roll it over to the gate.

Vicious, gray and snarling ever so loudly. These wolves frightened Ruby to death despite her knowledge of that they won't be able to get in... That's it. She won't stay out here any longer. The little red gem turned around to see a massive, beautiful yet old brick castle. She's curious as most Rubies are and decides to knock. Yes, knock on a door that has probably no life inside other then rats. It's too old but Rubies are stupid and she thinks maybe the "person" (that probably isn't even there) is busy.

Despite her thought, she knocked again just in case and the door creaked open allowing shadows to escape. Maybe she wasn't as stupid as she seemed...

Peridot has gotten worried now. Maybe her Ruby got lost, maybe her Ruby crashed, or even worse... Maybe her Ruby was KIDNAPPED! She left at exactly 4:30 and it was now 9:30 which means she should be back from the competition by now! " Oh no, oh no, oh no... I can't bear the thought of her being all alone and scared! Oh if she saw me fall apart like this I wonder if she'd think I'm like a distressed mother... " Peridot was worried to say the least but she decided to give it 30 more minutes until she were to go out to find her roommate.

Half an hour past so Peridot got her torch out and walked off into the night. She knew their were wolves but all for the sake of her Ruby, she will wonder in fearless! Or so she thought... she was actually quite scared.

Through her wondering, she found the gates surrounding a castle. Perhaps her small red gem had wondered in there? She noticed a rock in front and shot it with her limb enhancer causing a big explosion of rock and opened the gate.

The door was already opened and she could see that the floors were cleaner than she expected. She decided to walk in. If she can find her friend, she will.
