There's always been something missing in Nicolette's life. Up until just a few years ago, she found it – her twin sister that she'd been separated from nearly at birth. Though that still feels like it wasn't quite all that was missing.

Nicolette is more than the girl her sister tracked down just days before their seventeenth birthday. She's in a brand new city on the east coast, hoping to leave her midwest roots behind and start over. She's older, wiser, and sadly, she's lonelier.

When worlds collide and tragedy strikes, Nicolette ends up finding sanctuary in the one person her twin can't stand. Twisted lies are weaved, pasts are uncovered, and hearts are broken. As the saying goes, let bygones be bygones, but how can you let them go when they hit so damn close to home?

my first story i ever posted on wattpad was a little thing called "The Strength of Us". it's cringey as fuck and should definitely be rewritten, but i love it to death. this story right here is a spin-off of it. this idea hit me out of nowhere one day a few years back and i never did anything with it, but now i think i'm finally in the right place to write this story.

that being said, you do not need to have read TSOU to read this story. it might help a little and you'd get more familiar with the characters but it's not necessary. in fact, i encourage you not to read it because you'll probably just cringe or laugh the whole time. but hey, go ahead if you really want to.

if anyone even remotely recognizes a character name from TSOU or that the descriptions are written almost the same, i love you. if not, i still love you.

this story deals with swearing, twenty-something antics, sexual situations, possible broken heartedness, and the feels – swooning may occur. read at your own risk.
