Hye Min's POV
Where am I? I can't see a thing... Why is it so dark in here?
Hello? Is anyone there? I tried calling for help but there was no reply. The echoes of my holler can be heard at a distance but no reply was heard.
I was losing my patience so I decided to stand up and leave the area to get some help. I was desperate to see the light.
As I got up from the spot I was in, I felt pain residing in my left arm and in some parts of my left leg.
I placed my hands on the specific areas, and I felt a gooey substance oozing from it.
BLOOD?!?! But how?!?!
Suddenly, a voice that seemed to be coming from behind me said, "This is what happens when you interfere."
I then felt some cold metallic object against my forehead, "Any last words..."
I was speechless. I'm gonna die aren't I?
I looked at the Ahjussi who had the gun placed directly on my forehead, and as he pulled the trigger I said, "Ahjussi, it's true my life is in your hands. You can kill me now, but if you spare me I can be of use to you in the future."
The Ahjussi then loosened his grip from the gun and I felt the gun release from my forehead.
Aish.... Things wouldn't have ended up like this if I didn't follow that girl.
****** FLASHBACK ******
Beep. Beep. Beep.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Everyday at 7:45 I get ready to go to my part-time job. I have 5 part-time jobs to be exact.
This is what I get for being only a high-school graduate. After high school, I gave up on pursuing post-secondary education since, 1: I am poor to afford it and 2: My parents passed away a few months before I graduated from high school.
Those were the worst years of my life. My parents left with no warning and gave me the rest of the expenses to pay. This is why I resent my parents for leaving me in such way. But, whatever right? I can't be angry at them forever. They are still my parents no matter what.
However, I can't live life like this forever. Seriously, Hye Min, who gave you the right mind to agree to have 5 part-time jobs? Aish...Jinjja...
I was only supposed to be a swimming instructor, but then, the dry cleaners needed a cleaning assistance, the Karate School needed another karate instructor, the ramen shop near my place needed another waiter, the library in the community centre needed another helper to sort out the books, and the day care needed another person to take care of the children.
Once I finished eating breakfast, I left my house and went to my part-time jobs.
A FEW HOURS LATER...
Thank God... Everything went well today... Good Job Hye Min...
I looked at my phone. It was 12:20 AM.
I better catch the last bus soon.
All of a sudden I heard a scream in a distance. It seemed like a girls scream. At times like this, my Karate skills can be of good use. It's a good thing my parents allowed me to take Karate.
I tried running towards the direction of where the girl's screams was coming from and stopped once I heard voices.
"Did you get the amount as promised?"
