In front of me stood Alexis. She was the Queen Bee in this school, and used to be my best friend before she realized that I was a piece of junk.
She sneered at me, her caked up face scrunching in disgust. "Get out of my way." She said in a high nasally voice. I was too stunned that I couldn't say anything. "Ashy, tell her to move." She said to the person next to her which I just realized was none other than Asher.
I was stunned to see that she had already grabbed him, running her grubby little fingers all over him.
"You heard her, get out of her way." He said in a cold, heartless way, but his eyes were anything but, filled with sadness. His hands was twitching, as to catch my attention, and when I finally looked at it, he finger spelled the word sorry.
"O-okay." I stuttered, moving out of the way. I quickly hurried to my class, as the bell was about to ring, and made it just in time.
There were a few open seats, but only ones next people I didn't particularly like, the populate.
"Safiya!" A deep voice called. I turned and saw Huxley, patting the seat next to him. I smiled gratefully and walked over to him, taking a seat in the desk next to his.
"Hi," I started, not exactly sure what to say. "Thanks for saving me a seat."
"It was my pleasure," he replied, giving me a wide smile. My heart started beating faster.
This boy is going to be the death of me.
"When is the teacher getting here? Class started a few minutes ago." Huxley questioned.
"The teachers here are almost always late, and that bugs me a lot, because when we're late, we get detentions." I said, probably sounding really irritated.
A few minutes later, the teacher finally walked in, not giving a care in the world that he was almost ten minutes late, on the first day!
After long classes where they all basically told us the same thing, it was finally lunch. Asher and I had the same lunch period thankfully, but only one other class together.
I walked into the cafeteria with my homemade lunch, as there was no way I was going to eat the nasty stuff they call food.
I spotted a table, empty, but still relatively close to Ash. I'm guessing he had told whoever was sitting there to move, because he looked at me, them at the table, as if to say, sit there. I looked at him and gave him a subtle smile and nod, heading over to the table.
Aira was also in this lunch period, so when she came, I waved her over. She smiled a bright, bubbly smile and walked over. We started talking about our days, going over all of the stupid teachers, the ones we looked best, and of course, the ones we hated.
I felt a trap on my shoulder, and when I looked behind I saw none other than Huxley, with a tray of food.
"Hey, can I sit here?" He asked, "It's totally okay if I can't-"
"Huxley, it's fine, we'd love for you to join." I said, patting the seat next to me. He smiled, taking the seat next to me.
For the rest of the lunch period, we talked about different things, like our classes and why Huxley moved here. Soon lunch was over, and we sluggishly walked back to class.
The day was finally over, and I felt like dying. Well, I felt like dying since the day started. At least this time I can die with Ash.
"Hey," Huxley said, walking over to my locker. "Do you want to sit with me on the bus?" He asked.
"Yeah sure, I'd love to!" I said. Aira doesn't come on the bus after school, due to clubs, and it would be nice to have some company.
Walking into the bus, I saw that Asher and his friends were already there. Huxley and I were talking, and this caused Asher to give me a confused face before smirking.
