" This is it guys. I , Maggie Ryans, am officially being put into my misery. The world has once again become a dictatorship. I have been captured out the womb 16 years ago and my captor won't let me go."

"Magenta! Put your stuff in the van and let's go sweetie." My mother exclaimed , jumping frantically through my bedroom door and out of my bedroom door.

I sighed and clicked my camera off. I looked around my empty room that I would be leaving to some other grateful teenager . My mother ,Jennifer Ryans , received a new modeling job in Houston , Texas. I constantly kid that she's 32 and shouldn't be modeling , but she's downright gorgeous.

We've been living pretty well in Denver , Colorado. Financially , we're great and socially , we're even better. It took me a while to tell my friends that I'd be leaving, considering I had been living here for 16 years. My best friend Vanessa cried for the whole night she spent over at my house , which of course made me tear up a bit.

I had broken up with Jake Mitchell . He was a big deal , well a big deal around school I guess. He had a way of talking you into doing anything and I loved it . Jake was a good riddance , in a way ; let's say that he was very manipulative.

There would be so much to start all over with in Houston and I didn't fancy starting school in the middle of the year.  I mean who wants to start school in February?

"Maggie! Let's go."my mother called from downstairs. I grabbed my camera and said goodbye to my room . Pulling my luggage along,  I trotted downstairs and towards the garage. I placed my items in the trunk and hopped in the front seat.

"You got our $12,000?" I asked her.
She nodded her head and drove off.

It would be a long 15 hour drive and I knew that I would sleep for 7 of them starting right now.

At 7:00 p.m we arrived at a burger joint for a dinner. We had just finished 7 hours of driving. I rewrapped my scarf around my neck and hopped out the car.

" That was a long ride mom." I spoke. She clapped her hands together and wrapped her arms around me.

" Oh , Maggie , you were asleep the whole time." she responded with a light chuckle. We stepped into the burger joint and the aroma filled my nose. We sat at a booth and a good looking dude came to attend us.

"Hi , I'm Drake , I'll be your waiter for the evening. " he stated looking at me and staring in my eyes then shifting to my mother. I noticed his perfect smile that reminded me of Jake's.

" We'll both take a Bacon Cheddar burger topped with onions , yellow peppers and mushrooms. " my mother spoke. He nodded and wrote that down.

" And what would be your drink?"

" Two Vanilla sprites. And for dessert , can I have a chocolate lava cake?"

Drake looked at me and grinned , " Anything for you my lady. I'll be right back with that." He said walking off.

"Isn't he a cute one ?" My mother whispered.

" Yeah , he is." I responded blushing. My mother continued to make jokes on my behalf and it didn't take long before someone recognized her.

A tall lanky man who smelled of spice and everything not nice came up to her. She smiled as fake as she could. I mean he wasn't repulsive but he looked like a drunk.

" Woah you two are like twins. I recognize you from the old ads online, Jenni Grey. You are talented."

My mother simply nodded and it didn't take long for him to leave.

"What a creep." I let out.

Drake returned with our meals and I licked my lips.

"Yum!" I exclaimed grinning from cheek to cheek.

"And I'll be back with your cake."

I took a big bite into my burger and this tasted wonderful it brought me so much joy. This place was great .  Sometimes people would always come up to me and my mother. Our resemblance was indeed stunning and we could pass off as twins.

We both had green eyes , a soft caramel complexion and magenta colored hair , hence why my mother named me Magenta.  We also both have really long lashes and our birthdays are a day apart ; her birthday being April 1 and my birthday being April 2. It was crazy though because I was born at 12 :00 a.m.  I've been living with my mother for 16 years , she's raised me all by herself , I have never seen my father , ever. I'd probably die if I did and I'd only be able to ask him why?  Then I'd thank him , because I couldn't have a stronger relationship with my mother.

After finishing my lava cake , we left Drake a tip and then continued on the road. I insisted that I drive and my mother let me. I'd been practicing for 2 years now. Soon I'll be turning 17 and I'll get my own car. Luckily , I was wide awake and so was my mother . She didn't trust me fully yet.

Driving , time went by fast. Another 7 hours had gone by quickly and we were in Northern Texas. It was beautiful , the night scenery. We stopped at a hotel and checked in. Now that I was far away from home , I'd be starting a new life.
