NCIS is always a busy place upstairs, but not many people see NCIS how I do. I'm James Palmer, medical examiner assistant here at NCIS in Washington, D.C. I know what you're thinking, 'What the hell can he possibly have to say? He does the same thing everyday!' But that is where you are wrong, my friends.

Yes, of course, what I do doesn't seem like a nice walk in the park for most people. Honestly, most people find it absolutely repulsive what I do. Continuously being around dead bodies is why people don't always take me seriously.

No, it is not always the most pleasant thing in the world, but I've learned so much just through my years here at NCIS. We do more than just discern time and cause of death; we protect people, we collect detrimental evidence, we solve murders.

Sometimes it can get lonely down here, just me and Dr. Mallard. It's not very often that people want to come visit autopsy. On occasion we see Abby, Gibbs, Tony, McGee, and Ziva. But never all at once, and never for very long.

Let me tell you, even though I am in a slower part of the building, I can give you better insight into what goes on in NCIS than anyone else. Since we are not always hurrying around we have time to stop and take a look at that big picture. So come on, Take It From M.E.
