Otayuri (Two Part Story)

Otayuri One Shot 1/2

      Yuri Plistesty is a 16 year old prodigy that has poured his heart into figure skating. He's had his heart set on it since he was quite young. He's already competing in his second Senior Grand Prix Series. Last year he won by a hair almost losing to Yuri Katsuki. Over the season he gained more respect and understood Yuri K. more, but he just couldn't help but get angry whenever he was around.

Speaking of last year, he met and befriended someone by the name of Otabek Altin, whom he had never payed attention to until the GPF. After seeing Otabek perform, Yuri became interested in his new friend...

~Summer~

      Yuri and Otabek were now rink mates and they were great friends as they were similar in their behaviors. Well, Otabek wasn't short tempered like the young Russian. Otabek had spent most of the following year after the GPF in Russia. His coach came with him and didn't seem to have much issues with it. His coach seemed to be glad Otabek made a friend and enjoyed being with them.

It was around mid June and it was starting to get pretty warm in Russia. Yuri was sick and tired of watching Yuri and Victor act all lovey dovey, and dragged Otabek out of the rink for a second. He asked Otabek if he wanted to go see a new movie that had come out later. Otabek was a little surprised at the offer, but could see that Yuri really wanted to go. Otabek agreed and they went back to the rink to finish up their practice.

~Evening time that day~

      It was around 4:30 and they had finished up everything at the rink. They had avoided Victor who, not surprisingly, always found the chance to ramble on to them about Yuri K. Victor was also a big fan of Yuri and Otabek being a couple, so he also suggested ideas to them whenever he was able to. Yuri, per usual freaked out and marched off whenever Victor started spouting nonsense.

Now that half a year had passed with Otabek, Yuri had small thoughts cross his mind about Otabek and if they could ever be a relationship. He thought it to be strange and wrong for two men to be together, so he brushed off the thoughts as soon as they came. (YOU CAN'T CATCH ME GAY THOUGHTS)

They got to the movie theater and bought their tickets well before the showing time which was at 6:30. The two of them decided that they wanted to run around to a few other places before they went to go see the movie. Yuri glanced at a window of a store and saw a tiger plush toy in there. He waved at Otabek to follow him in. When they got in the store Otabek stayed behind a bit, watching Yuri talk and be excited about the plush. Unaware of the way he was looking at Yuri, they made eye contact and Yuri looked away at lightning speed. Yuri never really acted like that so Otabek became a little concerned. He walked over and quickly noticed that Yuri's ears were red. He wondered if Yuri wasn't feeling well so he turned Yuri around so they were facing each other. When Otabek asked if Yuri wasn't feeling well, Yuri just puffed up his cheeks and said he was fine. He didn't make eye contact once with Otabek when he responded. In an attempt to cheer Yuri up, the other male had taken the tiger plush and tapped Yuri's nose with it while blowing a kiss. As soon as he said "Whats the matter my soldier?", Yuri lost it internally.

Yuri ran out the store and found the nearest place that had a bathroom and ran inside it. He was young and never really questioned his sexuality before. Being in Russia of course, coming out as gay or bi is not widely accepted. Yuri, raised in a very 'Russian' household, was never taught about this because it's illegal. He was very confused as to what he was feeling and was scared. He was scared to be feeling this way, he didn't know what to do.

Being with Otabek these past couple of months really opened his eyes. He was never interested in girls, and that's because of his rough attitude that tended to drive them away. He ended up losing interest in girls and never pursued them. He finally gathered himself when he heard clicking on the floor. He had mini heart attack and wasn't quite sure why, but all thoughts faded when he saw Otabek out of breath in front of him.

Otabek, trying to catch his breath, asked why Yuri ran. Yuri abruptly replied with "I- I DONT KNOW... I...don't...kno-" it was right then when he suddenly felt something around him. It was something comforting, warm, and gentle. He realized it was Otabek and gasped. He tried to wriggle out of his arms, but Otabek pulled him in tighter. Otabek was relived and kind of happy. He knew then exactly why Yuri wasn't looking at him, or why he ran. Recently Yuri had been doing those kind of things and Otabek was becoming concerned, but now he was at peace... Yuri had fallen in love.

Yuri knew it then too, why it felt so nice. It wasn't like when Victor or Mila hugged him. It was a hug that felt like he was enveloped in something he never wanted to leave. He then wrapped his arms around Otabek and they stayed like that for a while. Simply enjoying each other...Simply enjoying love.
