Chapter 86: Night Of Fire

"Katherine! So you've finally arrived!" Eiichi showed a wide grin, "I've been waiting for you!"

Katherine shuffled her feet uncomfortably and spoke up softly, "Y-Yeah.... so he's already using first names....?"

"Oh, you can call me Eiichi."He chuckled, "....if that's alright with you, of course."

"I guess it'd be rude to say no...." Katherine thought and nodded, "Okay, Eiichi."

"Good." Eiichi folded his hands, "Let's get to know each other more....!"

"Right...."

Nanami noticed Katherine's awkwardness and cleared her throat, "Shall we discuss the song's theme right now?"

"Good idea!" Katherine nodded in agreement, "I have a few ideas-"

"Wait." Eiichi interrupted her, "I'd like to express how I want to the song to be like..... may I?"

"Go ahead."

He stood up from his chair and started speaking, "I want us to do a song like nothing we've ever done before! A brand new song..... that will light our souls on fire!"

"Fire.....?" Nanami repeated with a confused tone

"Yes..." Eiichi looked at Katherine, "We must be able to create the ultimate song!"

Katherine flinched when he suddenly backed her up on the table and leaned close, "Our song must leave not only the audience, but the singers trembling beneath the melody!"

"So?" He leaned closer, "What do you think?"

"U-Umm...." Katherine felt the intensity of his stare and gave in, "I-I have no problem with that."

Chuckling, he moved away and raised his glasses, "I knew it. We were definitely meant to sing together.... it was fate that brought us both here!"

"F-Fate...?" She sweat dropped, "It was more like the presidents chose us to be together...."

He looked at Nanami, "Did you get all of that?"

"Ah! Y-Yes, understood!" Nanami quickly nodded

The next couple days, Eiichi and Katherine had to work together during their entire schedule due to the anticipation and excitement of their upcoming duet song.

"Ah, Katherine." Eiichi spoke with a small grin on his face, "Did you hear the melody that Nanami sent?"

"Yeah, I just played it." She answered while showing him her MP3, "All she has to do now is change the arrangement of the song and we'll have to finish writing the lyrics for it."

He nodded and put an arm around her shoulders, "Good~! At this rate, we'll reach #1 in no time!"

"Ha..." Katherine sweat dropped, "Right...."

After listening to the song, both Eiichi & Katherine felt an urge to immediately write lyrics that can go along best with the melody.

"Hmm, this isn't good either..." Katherine sighed as she threw away the crumpled paper in her hand

She tapped on the blank piece of paper with her pencil lead and began thinking, "I need something stronger and more passionate...."

"But how do I convey my feelings right now into words....?" Katherine frowned and slouched slightly as she placed her chin on the desk, "Why is it so hard to write lyrics now....?"

*bzzt* *bzzt*

The vibrating sound came from Katherine's phone as a new message appeared.
