Derrick falls back, and yells in agony, luckily it only hit his shoulder. He saw his whole life flash though. The officer that was trying to hand cuff Richard in the first place rushes to check on him, he was shot through the neck and one of his lungs. He's alive....barley. Naomi is balled up in the corner of the room, she doesn't know how much more she can take, she felt like she done seen it all. Bernice's shriek throws off her crying, she looks up to her screaming and crying with Richard's blood all over her face, screaming about it being tainted. All she could think about was how she wanted justice to be served, but she never thought she would witness any of this. She immediately thought about Leah, she hoped she was ok, she knew she had something to do with the rape of Anastasia, but after what happened with.....them, she cringed at the thought 🤢, and with the fact she was fighting for her life, she felt like it was enough punishment. She suddenly snapped back to her mothers voice, she looked up to Marcus holding her back and trying to calm her down.
"You son of a bitch! How could you! Everything! Everything you sick son of a bitch!"
Richard tried to laugh but coughed up blood instead. As he let out his last words, which they believed was "see you in hell", Naomi, freaked out, broke down hysterically and Bernice tried to run to her rescue, but Naomi yells at her not to touch her with HIS blood on her. Bernice jumps back, gets disgusted all over again and just as she's getting ready to go clean herself up, the officer that shot Richard says aloud that he had a message for Mr. Marcus Watts. Bernice comes to a vault, Naomi looks up through tears, and Derricks still screaming about his shoulder burning.
Officer: "I'm sorry to inform you sir, but your daughter Leah didn't pull through."
Marcus and Bernice immediately break down.
"Damn" Naomi thought to herself. "I guess life didn't think it was enough punishment"
