 CAROLYNS POV'

Knees bent, I aimed at the hoop from the three-pointer arc. I lifted my hand, my

elbow a perfect ninety degree, and threw the ball. I went straight in,

not even touching the rim. I walked of the court and flopped onto the chairs on

the side. I picked up a towel that was lying on the floor next to the sofa,

neatly folded. I used it to wipe the sweat of my face. Water, I need water.

Gathering all the energy I had left, I got up and walked across our huge house to the kitchen.

“Morning, brother,” I greeted my fraternal twin, Dean, who was sitting on the kitchen counter holding a bowl full of fruit loops.

“Mornin’,” he said, through a mouthful. “Why aren’t you ready yet? We're gonna be late for school.” he said as he swallowed.

"Sorry, bro. Forgot to tell you, Ashley's dropping me today," I said trying to act innocent, but that is something I am definitely not good at.

"Screw you sis, I need to reach school in fifteen minutes, I got detention with Mrs. Jackson. And you know how bloody strict she is, " he said as he quickly gulped the last bit of his cereal and grabbed his bag and jacket and ran out.

"See ya'," I called behind him.

"Shut up," he yelled back, followed by the sound of a door slamming. I glanced at the watch, it was seven-fifteen. I rushed upstairs to my room and opened the doors to my walk-in wardrobe. I grabbed the first things I saw; which happened to be a pair of black colored jeans, a gray shirt with a lighter gray colored cardigan. I walked to my bathroom and turned on the shower. I waited for the shower to heat as I stripped down. I walked into the shower, a sigh leaving my lips as the warm water soothed my aching muscles. I really love warm showers.

I quickly shampoo'ed my hair, and lathered my body with soap. Five minutes later, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped my blue towel around me. I put on the clothes I’d picked out and dried my naturally straight, red hair. I applied a coat of clear lipgloss on my lips, and picked out earring shaped like stars, with a chain around my neck, which had the pendant of an owl in it.

My phone beep'ed, signaling I had received a text. It was Ash.

-get your ass down, i'm here-

I took one last glance at myself picked up my bag. I walked downstairs slowly, on purpose; just to piss her off. I locked the front door behind me as I walked out and made my way towards her car.

"What's up, girl?" I said as I slipped into the passenger seat.

"Tired, I barely got any sleep last night," she said, groaning.

"Why? What’s wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing's wrong; I just needed to plan a cheer routine for the next match. Which reminds me, you need to convince Brooke to try out," she replied, as she started driving in the direction of our school.

"Tryout's in the middle of the year?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

"Yeah, well, Candice broke her foot so she can't be in it, Holly's going to Paris, and Katie quit the squad. And the cheer I made requires alot of people, so I need at least seven more girls." she explained.

"Oh, okay. Though I really doubt Brooke will agree, you know how lazy she is."

"True, but with our amazing persuasive skills, she'll have to say yes," she replied, winking at me.
