"You gonna die?" I hear Brandon say as I enter the car slowly and carefully as if I'm an old person. Even with the cast it still hurts to even slightly nudge it.

"Hopefully." I answer sarcastically and I hear him laugh in the background.

The doctor who checked my leg told me that it's nothing serious and that it's going to heal in a couple of days, I don't really have to worry about anything.

"You hungry?" I hear him ask and I paused for a few seconds to think and looked towards him with a serious face.

"Am I hungry?" I repeated sarcastically.

"Macky D's it is!" He says with asmile on his face as he drives out of the parking lot.

"What's that? That a new place or something? Macky D's?" I ask.

He looks at me with confusion and disbelief written all over his face as if I offended him so much, which in return made me feel dumb.

"McDonald's! Jesus..." He says and let out a small laugh.

Macky D's? I've never heard anyone call McDonald's that way. I mean what's the point? McDonald's is already a simple and a short word, it doesn't need to be abbreviated?

Why am I arguing with myself about what McDonald's should be called?

"Oh shit, man I forgot I don't have my wallet with me. I'll pay you when we get back?" I say as he slows down to queue up the drive thru.

He let out a sigh and looked at me.

"I'm driving you to the hospital and now I'm spending money on you? What happened to me." He says with a grin on his face.

"Fuck you." I say and he laughs.

Once we got our order he drove again, I didn't even know where we're going. I'm not familiar with the road and the smell of the food inside the paper bag is just making my stomach rumble even more.

"Where are we going?" I finally asked.

"Detour man. I need to smoke and eat." He says with a straight face, his elbow resting on the open car window with him biting his thumb's nail while the other arms rests on the steering wheel.

"You better not have kidnapped me." I say jokingly.

I see him smile in the corner of my eye.

***

"We gonna have a picnic now?" I say as he opens the door for me and I hand him the food.

I looked around as soon as I got up with my crutch. We're in a park, a big one. There's not a lot of people but enough to convince me that we're not illegally trespassing.

"Shit, I forgot the tablecloths and the basket. Damn, sorry my love I disappointed you." He says mockingly. We laughed and started walking slowly.

As we come up a small hill I notice a small lake in the middle with ducks walking around and some on the water slowly and graciously washing themselves and shaking their feathers.

They reminded me of when I was  little, walking around the park with my grandma. She likes to feed the ducks and I was always afraid of them.

I'm walking slightly behind Brandon. I looked at him, he's wearing his black skinny jeans, black converse, a grey hoodie with a jacket on top of it.

He looks like one of those models you see in clothing shops for "cool" teenagers.

His legs are slightly thinner than mine ofcourse, I never skip leg day as what they would call it in the gym I go to.

We finally arrive towards a bench next to the lake and we sit down. He opens the paper bag and hands me my Big Mac and Fries.

"Do you know the best way of eating a BigMac?" I hear him say out of nowhere and I look towards him.

"There's a best way of eating a burger?" I ask.

"Tshh, yeah!? You see, you pick up the top half and eat that as a separate burger." He explains as he demonstrates it to me.

"What's the difference?" I ask him as I don't really see the point of doing that.

"Now you have two?" He answers.

"Yeah but it's just the same, you're just spending more time on putting them in your mouth?" I say as I grab the whole burger and ignore his 'Best way of consuming a processed food'

"You must be fun at parties huh?" He says throwing a piece of fries towards me.

I look in the distance and see the branches of the trees that barely have leaves as winter's closing in.

My body's getting cold and I wanna go somewhere warm but at the same time stay in the same place and appreciate the freshness of everything.

"I'm sorry." I hear him say out of the blue and I stopped.

"For what?" I ask him.

"What happened on the rooftop, that made you uncomfortable and I'm sorry." He answered. He seemed legit and sincere which made me think that he's serious and not just teasing me.

"Don't worry about it, I just never thought I'd ever get harassed by a guy on a rooftop. Doesn't happen that often." I say jokingly to somehow lighten the mood.

He let out a feeble laugh and looked at me.

"I promise I'm not a sex predator." He says which made me laugh.

I opened the car and let my crutch out first.

"Hey um, Christie's having her birthday next Saturday and I was wondering if you wanna come with us?" He says looking at me.

I didn't really have to think about it that much and just started nodding my head.

"Yeah, yeah sure. Who's gonna be there?" I ask.

"Well It was just gonna be me, Johnny and Christie but she likes you apparently." He says and smiles.

"What can I say, I'm good with the ladies huh." I say jokingly which made him laugh.

"What no, not that kind of like. She said you were weird and she digs it." I scoffed.

"I'm the one who's weird?" I ask with a grin written all over my face, teasing him.

"Hey, I didn't say it." he says with both his arms slightly raised up in the air as if he's surrendering.

"Tell her I'm gonna come, hopefully my legs are healed by then." I say as I get out of the car and closed the door.

I lowered my face to the open window to look at him.

"Thank's for today man, appreciate it." I say and saluted him.

I don't think I'm weird? Am I?

I do normal things? I think.

Who knows.
