Lola's POV:

Would you feel to be a fool if you just saw the most beautiful thing in your life and you kept staring at it , only to be struck out and in , again, of that trance by an equally magnificent someone....?
I hadn't realized that  I was so dumfounded by the homeliness and perfectness of the  masterpiece before my eyes that I momentarily stopped and stared so hard that the world outside froze . And the person who brought me back to earth could be described as an Angel .

"Lacey ? Can you hear me ? Hello?," I found Cavarian shaking me and asking me all sorts of worried questions .
I immediately came back to earth , staring at the dark angel before me , only to be entrapped in his eyes again . It was glowing !
The angel's eyes black eyes turned silver and a golden misty ring ran through it .

I sucked in a deep breadth , and calmed myself down when I realized that it wasn't an angel but Cavarian .

"Ye...Yes. ..Cavarian . I'm okay ," I stuttered , shaking my head and opening and closing my eyelids to regain my focus once again . And it dawned on me .
I , Lola Lacey Evangeline was sitting on Cavarian aka , the Chairman's,  lap while he entrapped me within his arms , his eyes , fixed on mine .
How much of a momentary blur I had to put myself in this embarrassing situation ? I don't know .

I tried to get up , but my world started spinning and my vision turned hazy .
I closed my eyes , waited till I felt myself be composed and open my eyes .

"You had me worried back there , Lacey . For a second , I thought you stopped being a child , running through a field of daisies , and then, the next I saw your eyes became white and you were out of it , standing as if you were a lifeless statue ," he said .

"Well, I kinda loved art and I must've been so  entranced..... Wait..... What ! Did I hear it right ? My eyes turned white ?," I asked , realising late , the eyeballs turned white fact .

Cavarian looked as if he were have an internal discussion before he answered ," Ah... no . You must've heard it wrong . I said your eyes became wide. W-i-d-e , pronounced as wa-i-de." Really ? I mean yeah . That must've been it . I mean , who's eyes turned white !
Nope , certainly not mine . Haha . I brushed the topic off dissing my ears .

"May I ask , what the picture was themed of, Cavarian ?," I asked , curiosity taking the best of me .
"A perfectly happy family that lived a long time ago ......," he said quietly . Something in his tone told me not to drag the conversation any longer and I decided to change the topic .

" Sir the examination .....," I said slowly , dissing myself that I might need a mental and physical all body check up more than the Chairman .

"Eh, diss it , Lacey . Anyone can see I'm as fit a feedle ," he said , humor lacing off his voice but his face only held his normal expression .
Hm.....  maybe he was wearing a mask to cover up his smiling face .
Yeah , right . Stupid , stupid me .

"But sir .....," I began only to be cut off .

"Lacey , really , it's okay . I'm fine . Only sick people need checkups . And the last time I was checked , I remember to be the healthiest man on the planet , if not the whole galaxy ," he said . I resounded a small chuckle .

"But , sir , what use do I have for coming here of not  for the check up ?," I asked .
"Well, since the decision of no-checkup was sudden , I'm not sure .
But if you've brought your needs to go to work , I suggest we can leave together for work . Save of gasoline ."

Showing up with your boss to work , never ended with a good result in movies and serials and all the stupid stuff that I watch but , hey , this is real life right ?
Who am I to judge ?

"Okay , Cavarian but what am I supposed to do for the next ," I said taking a glance at my watch ," 4 hours ? My shift starts at 11 ."

"Whatever you like Lacey . Just do not go down the basement of the house . If you want , I can take you to the infirmary or greenhouse ," he said to me .

"Oh no, Cavarian . It's okay . I'm sure you have better things to do than that . Plus , I'm sure you must be busy ," I replied dismissing the idea . Well, what else could I have said . He was so young yet he held such a high rank ! So young yet so successful . He must have tons of papers to sign and process .

"Well, I'm free from work till 11 , Lacey  . I don't mind ," he said and he whispered the last part carefully ," Nothing better than spending time with my mate ."
Although I was sure those words were not meant for my ears , oh yes , I heard it clearly !
Mate.... isn't that British for something like friends or buddies ?
So, was I being considered a friend ? Maybe , yes ?

"Thank you , mate ," I replied with a small smile of mine .
At first , he looked a tad bit shocked but covered it up quickly .
"Welcome , um... mate as in friend , right ?," he asked me .
"Yes , Cavarian . You wouldn't mind if I called you mate , right ?"
"Never , mate . Never ," he said .

And I smiled a small meek grin.
I've been wondering how I forgot completely that he looked really displeased just yesterday and now , here I was giving him a small smile . I must've misread his looks . Yeah , silly me !
Hey , he had a neutral face even when humor was laced on his tongue .
By the way , I've never seen him smile . I thought .

And that's how my brain went to sort of making graphical pictures of Cavarian smiling .
Would he have smiley eyes ? Probably not cuz his eyes were big with long lashes that I'm a wee bit jealous about it.
A dimple ? Maybe , maybe not .
Cheek bones rising ? Probably yes .
Scrunchy nose ? Nah , it only happens to normal looking girls like me .
Yes, I'm pretty childish for a 23 year old . I know .
