[V's POV]

Heaving out a low sigh, V's eyes slowly drifted to his beloved camera. It sat in its case, untouched and collecting dust as the years went by. He couldn't remember the last time he felt inspiration.. After Rika died, his world spiraled into a deep pit despair. He couldn't bring himself back, no matter how hard he tried. He couldn't find beauty in the world like there once was, even when he knew it was there.. just waiting to be captured.

As days passed, he began to hate himself, he couldn't even bring himself to condone his members and lead them. The notifications from the messenger seemed to grow less and less as people began to realize he wasn't coming back... Not for a long time.

V sighed again, this time a bit more irritated.

"Coward." He hissed out through clenched teeth, unable to contain the anger that flushed his porcelain skin. His hands clenched tightly into fist, then unclenched, an easy method to relieve anger without inducing any harm to himself or the objects around him.

Rika would be so disappointed in his behavior. She'd want him to move on and be happy. But any possibility of that situation was over, the light was fading from V's eyes... He was losing his vision.

In fact the world was no more than just a blurry, monochrome screen that lost light day by day. The main reason why V lost his inspiration was because he could no longer tell the difference between a sunset or sunrise or a bird between a squirrel. It was all the same, mushed lumps of grey and white.

V would be lying if himself if he said he wasn't envious of those who could enjoy the world with their own two eyes. He would give anything to see the colors of a rainbow just once more. To hold his precious Rika once more.
All the anger simmered away as the familiar tone of a notification chimed off his phone, instantly capturing his attention. He knew who it was from, the only person allowed to message him, the only person who knew he was still here. Seven.

Turning around, V leaned over and retrieved the rectangle device from the table and set his prescribed glasses over his eyes as he peered down at the slightly less blurry message.

707: The RFA Messenger has been hacked and a woman has entered Rika's apartment. Her name is [Y/N] and we've decided to trust her, she'll be hosting the next party. I think this is good for us, V!

V read the message again and again. He couldn't logically wrap his mind around the situation. How did the Messenger get hacked and how did someone get into Rika's apartment, and most importantly why was this woman being trusted with Rika's classified information?

After looking over the message once more, V shut his phone off, and set it back down against the wooden frame of his table. The situation was out of his hands. V had been gone for so long that his opinion didn't matter, and he wasn't going to start including his input now.

He trusted that the RFA had made the right choice.
