Jess’s POV:

My eyes blinked open, heavy with sleep. It took me a while to realise where I was. When I did, I let an arm escape to turn my stupid, annoying alarm clock off. Then again, it was its job to annoy you! I sat up and stretched. I got up, placing my feet into big camper van slippers and walked over to look out of my window of my London flat. I still hadn’t got used to the idea of having my own flat. It was small, just big enough for 3 people. I took note of the weather: Sunny- not too sunny though. Nice enough for a football match.

“Crap!”

I’d completely forgot about my football match! I ran over to my wardrobe and pulled out my Cosby kit- black and white stripes with white socks. I ran downstairs, grabbed my bootbag and a banana and sprinted out the door.

I was running with the ball, my dark brown ponytail going wild in the wind!

“Pass!”

I looked up to see my best friend, Beth, shouting with her hand up in the air, her green eyes wide! I made a quick pass to her, just slightly in front so she could run on and…

“GOAL!”

I turned around and saw the whole Cosby fan club jumping up and down with joy! The whole team ran over to Beth and hugged her.

“Great set-up,” said Beth and we high-fived eachother.

Then, just to our luck, the referee blew her whistle! The whole team screamed and hugged eachother whilst the fans went wild! 2-1 to us! That’s brilliant. It now means that Cosby are top of the league table! We all ran over to our coach and he told us how well we had played and when the next match was. I walked over to my bootbag and retrieved my iPhone 4s. I had 2 missed calls from my best friend from dancing, Maggie. I looked at the time.

‘Oh poo!’

I was 30 minutes late for my dance rehearsal. I slipped off my predator football boots and slipped on my converse high tops. I shouted goodbye to my team mates as I started to run towards my car (blue convertible Volkswagen beetle). I jumped in, let my hair down and turned on my radio. I didn’t have to rush. I knew the pep talk that was going to come when I arrived.

I stepped out of my car and plugged my headphones into my iPhone. I put one of the ear pieces into my ear, the other was left dangling. I grabbed my dance bag and football (I could never go anywhere without my football) and calmly walked into the building. I greeted the receptionist and walked up to the dance studio. Even without entering I could here the sweet tunes of One Direction.

‘OH NO!’

One Direction were actually there and actually singing. Ohmigosh! I got out my little pocket mirror and checked how I looked. I knew I was going to be a backing dancer for One Direction, but no one warned me that they were going to be her today! Right… I took a deep breath and opened the door slowly. Immediately, the whole crew and One Direction turned their heads towards me. Robert Greenwood’s head turned towards me as well and he clapped his hands

“5 minute break everybody!”

I groaned and put down my football and dance bag. I unplugged my ear phones and put them (along with my phone) in my bag as I turned to face the Greenwood ogre!

“Hello Jess, late again I see?”

I longed to say something sarcastic but I didn’t think that this was a good time so I just murmured something that hopefully sounded like a yes.

“I have a good mind to sack you! But…”

You are too good to let go. Don’t take advantage of it!

I knew this pep talk to a tea!

“You are too good to let got. Don’t take advantage of it!” finished Robert; I sighed and pulled my dance outfit from my bag.

“I’ll just go and get changed then.”

As I was leaving, I could’ve sworn I saw Louis Tomlinson staring at me!

I looked in the mirror. My straight brown hair was pulled back into a loose ponytail and my blue eyes were outlined with eyeliner. I was wearing a stringy black leotard with leggings and bare feet. I gathered up my bag and went back to the studio. They were in mid dance when I walked in.

“Right, lets go from the top,” shouted Robert, whilst clapping his hands.

I walked over to Maggie,

“Hiya,” she started, “Football match?”

“Yeah!” I said enthusiastically, “We won which now means we ar-“

“No Jess! Remember, I don’t do football!” said Maggie,

“Oh yeah! Sorry Maggs,”

“Places everybody!” shouted Rob again!

I took my place next to Louis and put my hand on his shoulder. He smiled at me! I felt my heart melt away from me!

Pull yourself together! I said in my mind!

I smiled back, confident and friendly! The music started up and soon, One Direction were singing ‘Everything about you’ from their new album ‘Up all night’! The dancers started their dancer routine. I was giving it my all. I was hoping that if I performed well, I wouldn’t be kept back. Fat chance!

After 4 ½ hours of gruelling training, it was over!

“Jess? Can you come over here please?” asked Robert. I said goodbye to Maggie and my other friends and calmly walked over to Rob.

“Yes?” I said, though I knew what was coming.

“You’re going to have to stay here for a couple of hours. You know that’s the consequences!”

I groaned and sighed a heavy sigh!

“Fine,” I said and immediately dropped down to my bag. Uh! I was so annoyed! I pulled out my iPhone to text Maggie that I wouldn’t be meeting her later!
