Moving

The house was buzzing early in the morning. People had filtered in throughout the night and I had slept down on the living room furs. "Jasper!" I could hear his feet pounding down the steps and then his face looked down at mine. "Wake Clarke. We move out today." He only nodded at me and dissappeared. I pulled myself up, bones cracking loudly as I stretched to the sky. "Did you sleep well Onyx?" Clarkes hands touched my taut stomach, causing my belly to spasm. "I slept fine, and you?" I spoke and walked into the kitchen where James stood with Anouk tied to her back and food cooking on the stove. "Your stomach looks fucked. Maybe you should go see Audrey." James came up and patted the spreading blue spot on my stomach. "She will just drain it, nothing is extremely damaged." I moved around her and grabbed the baby from her back. I met Clarkes eyes and she smiled. "Is she yours?" Clarke had asked as we made our way up to my room. I chuckled. "She isn't my offspring no. She's Jaspers, but her shit mom left a little over two months ago." Clarke twirled the babies hair around. I pushed the baby towards her, and she took her willingly, letting me pack everything away into bags. I tossed weapons in carelessly, and clothes into one bag. "What of the dogs?" Clarke was right behind me. "They will follow their masters, I'm more worried about how we will thrive with large numbers." I scooted around her and pulled the bags to the sliding door. "We have to leave soon." My voice wandered. I walked down the hall to the circular room and opened the cages releasing the dogs. They huffed, running at my feet and down the hall to their owners. Sage was the only one that stopped at my feet, her tail wagging and her tongue rolling around. I tapped her head and walked back down the hall towards my room. Clarke was singing softly to Anouk, swaying side to side in front of the hazy window. The baby gurgled and Clarke laughed quietly. "Ready to go?" My voice suprised me. She turned on her heels and nodded.

I took the bags down stairs where Sol and Jay were loading up and walking down to the caves. People darted around us, and Jasper took Anouk and began the walk. Dogs were clipped to their ropes, and lead out by Keanu. We stood in the empty house alone now, her breaths the only sound. "It's a long walk, we should go. Someone is walking your horse down there now." She looked over at me obviously trying to calm her nerves and nodded. "How are you always so calm? You are in a higher position than I am and I'm always nurvous." Her hand clutched at the top of my arm. "I have to be calm. As a leader I don't have a choice, and you will learn with time to be as calm as your predecessor." She huffed out at my words. The sun beat down heavily, warming my dark hair and bronze skin up. We breached the forest, stopping for water.

"Im so tired." She stretched up, shoulders popping and a yawn excaped her. I laughed, picking my bag up and swinging her onto my shoulders. She screamed out, balancing her hips on my shoulders and wrapping her arms around my lower back. I waded through a shallow pool, the water coming up to the middle of my calf and I felt her hand unwind from my body to touch at the water. I pulled out of the pool and started the last down hill decent to the caves. A fire had already been started, and only the people from the outside force had arrived. I bent my knees and let her crawl down. "I think we should stay around the same area as each other." She looked up and spoke. I smiled and only nodded and walked into the mouth of the cave. I was greeted by the smell of bitter alcohol and shouts. Dakoda had his mouth around another boys, his hands shoved down his pants and pushed against the rocky wall. I pulled Clarke towards a small tunnel and crawled up into a smaller cave. There was a small opening to the side of it where we could see the forest and the lake. "You guys live like animals, taking pleasure where ever you want it and drinking way to much." She pulled herself up into the small space as I laid out furs on the rough ground. "These are your people as well now, you aren't just a body to fight you are a leader now. You are them." I broke for a second and dropped the bags down at the foot of the furs. "Pleasure is human, it's good for the soul and body." I flopped down on my back punctuating my words. She crawled over and sat next to my hip, pulling up my shirt and looking at my stomach. "It's spreading. I was was a healer before this let me help you." She rubbed across the blue and purple spot. I nodded and she crawled away, coming back a minute later with a bag. She settled next to me again and pulled my shirt off this time. I pulled my arms above my head and closed my eyes as she pulled a blade across my skin and drained the pooled blood. Her hands worked over my skin quickly, the once dark spot on my stomach had lightened and she stitched up the cut. She left my stomach for a second to come back and rub cream over the spot. "We can monitor it, it looks just like it's under the flesh." She slid the bag down the tunnel where someone ran past and picked it up. "I told you I was fine." I rolled to my belly and heaved out a sigh as Clarke laid down next to me. The light dipped into the window and illuminated her golden hair. "War is brewing. Be ready puppy." I ran my fingers through her hair and let her slip into a fitful sleep.
