Chapter 1: Scars remake

My name is Eren Jeager, many would think I've got it good.
I'm a pretty good football player, I'm above average in all subjects, and I've been told I'm pretty good looking.
Honestly sometimes even I think I'm pretty lucky. But everyone's always got scars.
My step sister Mikasa is always defending me. Always taking care of me, she's never let anyone bully me, and she's always thinking of what's good for me.

Our parents knew each other for so long. One day, her family was supposed to visit our house but they never arrived, dad called them but they never answered. We were worried because we heard about the recent burglary and assaults that had been happening around the area. We never would have imagined what we saw that day.
We walked in the front door and there they were, they had been murdered. Dad broke down, right in front of the door, I took a step back and fell down in the snow behind me. I was in shock, I couldn't even scream.
I saw something from the side of my eye, two men carried a girl into a cabin
I screamed at my dad but he just cried holding his two deceased friends in his arms.
I got up, if I wanted to save her I needed to act fast. I followed them to the cabin, i was so scared that I started crying, can I really do this? I'm just a kid! I picked up a knife that was behind the door, I knocked on the door and one of the guys opened up, I killed the first two and untied the girl, she seemed so lifeless... she told me that there was a third guy somewhere. He came out and started strangling me, I told her to fight, she stood there for a while shaking uncontrollably , I almost gave up until I finally got to her, she stopped shaking and she ran toward a third guy that was about to stab me, she stabbed him through the back and somehow the knife went right through the other side. It was cold December, I gave her my red scarf, she never gave it back and just kept it on ever since.
After that day she seemed to become a whole new person. She felt as if though she owed me something. The police came not long after, they were surprised that two kids did this, they ruled it self defense, we took in Mikasa and father started drinking, he lost his best friend.

We met our friend Armin not long after, he's the smartest person I've met, he was always listening to me and would always give me the smartest advise about anything.
We both found out we were gay around the same time and we started dating, it didn't work out unfortunately and it was a little awkward for us afterwards but we eventually went back to being good friends,
We dated other people and for a long time we didn't meet the right person, we had a pretty close relationship, we were always comfortable being around each other, including with Mikasa.

Mikasa thought she had feelings for me up until she found out she actually liked girls, she liked a girl called Alexis they seemed to be at each other's throats for so long. They went out for 4 months until Alexis cheated on her.
It turned out to be revenge. Alexis didn't actually like her, she just wanted to get back at Mikasa for a problem they previously had. Mikasa was depressed for a while until she met Annie, it started off the same so we were scared, Annie and Mikasa fought all the time but it felt like a different from Alexis. This one seemed genuine, Annie always looked more like she was teasing Mikasa rather than fighting her, they just recently started dating and Mikasa seems pretty happy.

My mother...
my mom died when there was a huge earthquake and the houses fell down on her.
I got in a fight with her, for a reason that I can no longer remember.
I stormed out, I told her that I was going to the basement and sneaked out, when I felt the earthquake I ran straight home, I saw Mikasa and Armin screaming my name outside the house
When I called out to them and they ran towards me up and hugged me.
I heard my mom yell out my name and ran towards me.
Everyone's faces dropped when we  heard a loud bang. The house had fallen on top of mom, and somehow caught fire,the fire was becoming uncontrollable, we tried helping her out but it wouldn't stop the fire kept going, one of my moms friends saw what happened and ran over to help us out, he tried but he couldn't get her out and the fire was getting more intense, she yelled at him to leave.
He denied but she yelled at him telling him to help us get out of there, I struggled, but what could a 10year old kid do. As he carried me away I looked at her covering her mouth, she looked at me and extended her arm at me,
With so much regret in her eyes, the last thing I heard from her were her unfinished words: "I love you".
Suddenly a huge piece of the house had fallen on her. I heard the ambulance cars and I saw the fire fighters, but it was too late, even a 10 year old like myself understood that.
My father informed us that my mother couldn't make it.

My father tried to reassure me that it wasn't my fault, but it was I understood that well. I couldn't bear to look at myself, the last thing I did with her was fight with her, how was I supposed to know she would be taken from me that very day? I should've told her I loved her more often, I should've been a better son, I should've done and been so many things... but I wasn't. I wish I could hug her and tell her how much she meant to me.

Father never told me anything, he never blamed me for anything, he tried to make life a little brighter for me and Mikasa but he was becoming an alcoholic little by little, he wasn't being himself but on the 5th anniversary of moms death, he didn't come back home. He left behind a letter explaining that he just wanted to better himself.

Letter a From Grisha To Eren and Mikasa.
Mikasa please take care of your brother. i know you aren't my real daughter, but you should know by now. i love you like one of my own.
stay strong like the girl I've always know you are. make sure to stay in school and study well.

there was a dry tear drop on this part and Mikasa and i smiled with tears streaming down our eyes.

i want you to know i won't be back until im worthy of being called your father..

Eren Don't let anyone get to your head, I didn't leave because I blame you for anything, I miss Karla and I think I need to grieve on my own, I'm so sorry. I know I should be strong and be there for both of you but I can't I'm so sorry my children.

Armin I know you will be reading this. Although you're not my kid, you are part of our family. Please make sure to keep these two on track

We understood that Dad left because he needed to grieve, but I couldn't help but feel this was somewhat my fault, I loved my dad and so did Mika and Armin, we all missed him so much.
We thought he was a great father and he is, we're always waiting for his return.

He updates us every now and then but we do miss him a lot.

My mom and dad are always on my mind. Everyday I miss them. But another person who is always on my mind.

Please keep in mind that I have not seen any of the new seasons on attack on titans I just really like these characters shipped together. These two will always hold a place in my heart because they were my very first Yaoi ship
I read a lot of Wattpad and I heard of this ship over and over again, this was before I watched the anime, when I finally did watch it
I was a bit disappointed but I really loved this ship. I always will.
Though for my fan fiction I'm simply using their names and appearances... think of it as actors?
I have watched a lot of clips from new seasons but if I got something wrong tell me I'll try my best to fix anything.
