Friday 8:30pm
It was 8:30pm, the party was starting soon, and I still had to do my hair and makeup. I run into the bathroom, and throw myself together; I smoked my eyes out, for the seductive look, and borrowed Nicky's red lip stick. Nicky on the other hand decided to wear a deep blush nude lip color. Maybe she had the same idea in mind, playing hard to get? I quickly waved my hair out, and threw on my new outfit; a deep cut, V-neck, black tank that was slightly sheer, so I added a cute black bralette, a nude high-waisted pencil skirt, and a black pair of chucky heels. I glanced into the full length mirror, I think I look okay, right? I grab my black leather jacket on the way out of the house. As we drive over, I try and get myself to calm down. My heart felt like it was gonna beat out of my chest. Get it together Steph, you got this.
We pull up to the addressed house Tommy texted Nicky, (how he got her number, I have no idea), the house was a huge 2 story building, it was all lit up with fairy lights on the inside and out. Nicole and I walked in, and some heads turned our way, but nothing too old fashion movie cliché. We got catcalled by a few guys on the way in, but only 2 sets of eyes looking at us mattered in that moment. Tommy and Dylan were playing beer pong with a rather large group of boys over by the kitchen, but when Nicole and I entered, there focus shifted on us.
Dylan's POV:
"Damn, did you see that shot? That was killer," I exclaimed to Tommy. The beer pong was starting to get intense, but he was staring at the now opened door. My eyes locked with a matching pair of hazel ones, causing shivers up my spine. She was so beautiful, her hair a wild frenzy from the wind outside, her lips were crimson red, and her body was so accentuated in that outfit. I shifted uneasily, "Holy shit, bro they are smokin' hot," Tommy nudged me smirking. I rolled my eyes, now seeing the girls standing in front of us, "Hello Ladies," Tommy murmured, "Hey Tommy, your friend has a really nice place!" Nicole exclaimed looking around casually. My eyes wandered to Stephanie, she glanced at me for a split second before waltzing into the kitchen. I hesitantly started to follow her, but stopped.
I keep finding myself looking for her in everyone, wanting to know more about her, understand her thoughts; but I know better than to make her fall for me, to get too close to her. Once she found out what I did, she'd never look at me the same.
STEPH POV:
I walked into the kitchen to grab some jack and coke, and spun around to see Dylan flirting with some shitfaced blonde, she definitely was looking for attention. And for some reason, I felt a pang of jealousy, and almost hurt. Why does this always happen to me? I go sit down, on now a much nicer couch, and sip at my drink. I look around the room, and immediately spot Nicole with Tommy. She looked like she was having a great time, laughing every 5 or o minute at something he said and then blushing at something else he said. Blah blah blah; its not that I'm not happy for her, because I truly am, but she always manages to catch someone's eye. I'm just the friend that tags along to these pathetic parties, and ends up going home early.
I once again find my world spinning into a blur, descending into the unknown darkness, after hitting up that one dude from last time. Why do I always seem to get into this situation?
Saturday 8:26am
The light from the window cast in through the slightly open curtains, right into my eyes. I stretch my aching body, and force myself up out of bed. After rubbing my eyes almost raw, I focus my vision; white walls, white curtains, white bedding. I've been here before, I remember the same soft cologne within the sheets, the empty walls, the saddened silence. I walk down the familiar hallway into the living room, and around the corner in through the door frame, leading into the coffee aroma filed kitchen. I once again, lean on the door frame, seeing the same white kitchen, with white plates, and an occupied, white kitchen table. He sat there staring into the nothingness, sipping his coffee, lost in his thoughts. I thought about what it could be, he was thinking about; his face relaxed, while his shoulders tense. With his bare torso exposed, I could see a map of tattoos, each one I imagine has there own story.
The sound of his coffee cup being set down on the table, awoke me from my thoughts, directing my attention now on his eyes. And they were looking right back at me. We stayed like this for some time before we tried to make words form from our mouths. He cleared his throat, "Good morning," he gestured to the coffee pot and cup sitting on the counter. I mosey over to it, "Morning, " I poured the coffee, and took a seat at the table, having Dylan's eyes on me intently. We silently sipped at our coffee for what seemed like forever, before he broke the ice. "So what is it you took this time?" He tried to hold back a smirk, but I caught it before it disappeared, for who knows how long. I roll my eyes, "I hate you," he chuckles looking down at his coffee, "Well, how is it you always end up unconscious at parties?" I sat there quiet for a minute, thinking hard about my reply, "Sometimes I need to forget, and parties just happen to be where I do so," I sipped my coffee. Dylan nodded, "I find myself doing that more than often," my eyes flicker, "I don't mean to pry, but what is it your trying to forget?" He shifted in his seat, "How to feel."
