Jay's POV
" Did he really do you wrong? I guess I can play along.... girl come here and kiss me. I just want your ex to see. Girl you look kinda cute called out."
The song "Ex To See" by Sam Hunt blared from speakers of my black and chrome '04 Dodge Ram 4500, 2 tons pickup truck. I was listening to it as I stacked hay in the barn. My little sister Ashley was out riding somewhere in the fields and I hope that I didn't have to go get her come dark.
Just as I finished stacking all the hay i heard hoofbeats not far away and rapidly getting closer. I wiped my sweaty face and took of my work gloves. I walked to the front of my truck to see Ashley and Bullet (my horse) galloping at full speed towards me.
"Don't run him too hard Ashes! I don't want you to get hurt!"
She obeyed and slowed him down. Ashley always does as I say for fear that social services would take her away from me. Her and I love it here. We don't do much but school and work. Our parents died last year in a very nasty car accident. Ashes and I were crushed but we had to keep going. For them. Ashes has PTSD from it. She hasn't talked since but ever since then her life revolves around me and a strange obsession with fire. 🔥
Sometimes when I don't understand her she writes notes to me but she has a fear that I'll reject her.
I never would because I love her and she is all I have. The day I found out my parents were dead and Ashley had survived I went and fought to get my little sister.
It's funny. I'm the only one who can get to smile at all anymore. I wouldn't trade the silent days with her for anything.
As Bullet came to a halt she jumped off his back and ran into my arms. When she looked up at me I knew that she had a vision of the accident. She had tears running down her face. Feeling bad I knelt down wiped her tears and scooped her up. I grabbed Bullet's reins and put him in the barn. After I knew my horse was ok I took Ashes to her room. She didn't move so I just sat on the couch with her in my lap as I turned on her favorite movie. So how am I doing so far? Comment please please please
I need feed back
