I trembled as I got off of my plane. I looked around the airport to see if I could notice my mother. I haven't seen her in ten years. Basically, my whole life I had been with my father. Until two weeks ago. Two dreadful weeks ago. Two weeks ago I didn't have to worry about my mother. Now I have to MEET her.

Ten years ago my mother and my father got a divorce. My father fought with my mother over me. He wanted me to stay with him in California. However, my mother wanted me to move with her in Maryland. I had the tough decision of choosing who to stay with. Long story short, I stayed with my father. Two weeks ago I had learned my father had been in an awful fight and had been shot. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A couple days later I got told that I had to stay with my mother in Maryland. I wasn't the happiest girl in the world, but now I'm never happy so that really does not matter. Does it? My father is dead, and now I have to stay with my awful, rich, snobby, mother. She doesn't even deserve to be called mother.

After I stayed with my father she forgot about me. She got remarried and had five more kids. I was not her main priority. Still I yearned to see her. It was hard for a six year old to grow up without a mom. I then stopped my pity party long enough to hear someone call my name.

"TERRA! TERRA!"
I then quickly walked towards the woman saying my name, repeatedly.
"Hi Sofiya." I told her nonchalantly. She somewhat looked hurt when I didn't call her mom.
"Are you ready, darling." She queried.
"Yes."I responded.

But I wasn't really. I wasn't ready to live with her. I wasn't ready to meet my five siblings. I wasn't ready to meet my stepdad. I'm not ready at all. I just wished I could go home. Home as in California. With my dad.
