Chapter 33: Betrayed

A/N: Time where it was already semestral break. Enjoy!

It's been days since James and I had no contact. Ibig sabihin ay nalungkot ako ng sobra sa mga araw na iyon. We had a small party dahil pupunta ng London sila Ara and Enzo with his family who came here to have a vacation because it's our semestral break. Kami nalang ni Kelly ang maiiwan dito. I was holding my camera and looking at the picture I got of Enzo and Kelly. Ang ulo ni Kelly ay nakalatag roon sa balikat ni Enzo habang pinaglalaruan ni Enzo ang kanyang buhok. I wish I could also do this with James. I really miss him so much.

Next day, 6pm

"Bes, okay ka lang?" Kelly asked.

I was now busy looking for flights to New York.

"There are no available flights for Paris to New York." I sighed.

"Kahit ibang airline?" Tanong niya.

"It's really pricey. Ayaw ko naman gamitin halos lahat ng allowance ko. Maybe I'll just come on Christmas. Mas matagal pa." I answered.

Dahil scholar nga ako, I do a lot of Student Assistant things and I get pay for the service. Doon ko nakukuha iyong pera pan gastuhin ko dito.

"Iba talaga ang Love na malayo sa isa't isa? Gagawin mo talaga-"

"Hugot! Miss mo lang si Enzo kaya ka nagaganyan." I interrupted.

"Si Enzo? Hindi ah!" She defended.

"I'll call him later para makausap." I said.

"Bakit hindi ngayon?!" Tanong niya.

"Baka busy siya. May ginagawa siya sa company-"

"Nadz naman! Mahal ka nun at magkalayo kayo kaya kahit anong oras ka pa tumawag, sasagutin niya!" Sabi ni Kelly.

"Ilang araw na nga kami di naguusap! Busy nga siya!" Sagot ko.

"Hay nako, ayan na ang cellphone. Tamghali pa lang naman doon. Tawagin mo na!" Kelly forced me.

"Hindi na talaga. Lulutuan nalang kita para tumigil ka diyan." I said.

"Talaga?! Sige!" Sabi niya.

I've learn how to cook dishes because of Kelly at ang favorite ko na gawin ay iyong Beef Salpicao. Kaya ayun ang linuto ko. While I was waiting for the Beef to finish, I got a text from him.

James:
I have another meeting coming up, I'll call you later if I have time. I'm sorry I didn't got to call you for a few days. I'm really busy.

Mukhang di ko na talaga matatawagan siya mamaya. I'll just wait for his call.

"Kelly! Handa na." I said serving the plate of rice and beef.

"Thanks! Ano? Tumawag ka na? Tumawag na siya?" She asked.

"Hindi... busy talaga siya at nagtext na tawagin niya daw ako mamaya."

"Hay nako!" She complained.

"Bakit? Parang ikaw naman ang sinabihan!" Natatawa kong sabi.

"I feel you kasi." She sighed.

"Sabi niya, he'll call pag nasa London na siya!" Dagdag niya pa.

"Grabe, in love ka na talaga sa kanya." Komento ko.

"Hoy! Siya ang unang umamin hindi ako ah!" Sambit niya. "I have no right. He showed me nothing but kindness and love to me." I answered.

"Mahal na mahal mo nga." Sabi niya.

"He's my first boyfriend and my first  love."

"Hay, sige! Fine, hindi ka niya lolokohin." She grinned.

I smiled too. We continued eating but I was also glancing to my phone.

There was no notification.

"I'll clean the plates. Tapos ka na?" She asked.

"Ah, oo." I said and handed my plate.

I scrolled through other things other than waiting for a notification that he's calling.
But then I gave up! I gave up waiting for him! Ayaw ko na mag intay at mamaya ay hindi pala siya tatawag! I was looking for his contact until Kelly called me.

"Nadine! Your mom's calling!" She yelled.

I went to my room and heard a ringing sound. Sinagot ko ang facetime call on my IPad at bumungad doon si Kuya at Mommy.

"Wala ka bang plano umuwi, bunso?" He asked laughing.

"Oo nga, anak! We miss you so much!" Mommy said.

"Hindi na ako uuwi. Iipon nalang ako diyan para umuwi diyan sa Pasko." I said.

"Hay, salamat naman! Kamusta ka na diyan?" Tanong ni Mommy.

"I'm fine! Malapit na matapos iyong Scholarship kaya mapapadali na rin ang uwi ko." I said smiling.

"Mabuti naman! Hindi ka nahihirapan diyan ah?" Tanong ni Mommy.

"Hindi naman po." I answered and we continued to chat.

Pagkatapos nun ay nakapag desisyon na tatawagin ko na siya.

"Go for it! I'll leave you here." Sabi ni Kelly.

So she left me and I contacted him. Nakailang rings rin pero after that, he finally answered.

"Hello?" I said

"Hello?" Someone said over the line.

A female voice.

"Who's this?" I asked.

"James girlfriend! Uh, he's taking a shower so his phone was left here and I thought that this call was an emergency." She answered.

"Oh really? Uh, okay... Can you tell him I called?" I said while tears were falling down my cheeks.

"Sure!" She said. "Who is this by the way? I'm Zoe!" She added.

"I'm Nadine. Just tell him I called." I said wiping my tears.

"Alright." She just answered.

"Thank you." I said sighing.

"Okay, bye!" She said and dropped the call.

I sat down my bed and held my forehead, massaging it. My head and my heart was hurting so bad because of it. Did I assume? Maybe it's his friend that is a girl and not girlfriend in a relationship. I've never cried so hard over the pass years. I'm really sad and disappointed at the same time. I've never been this hurt before. Does love need a little pain? I thought it was always about the feeling of love.

I thought he would never bring a girl on his home. I thought he would never do that to me because I trusted him. I thought he would never let me cry. I thought he would never hurt me like this. I thought he would not disappoint me. I thought he would always feel that I'm the only one. I thought he would never make me mad. I thought he would never break his promise. but... I only thought.

Why would he do that? I'm really wrecked. My heart is destroyed. It's broken in to pieces. He shattered my heart. This is so painful. I feel so betrayed.
