Dawn Of The Vampires

Being Tracked

  "I'm getting a trace of someplace near the Beefy Burger, fast food place." Comes Jacob into my ear com.

      I nod. "Okay, we're on our way over there."

   "And oh yeah. In case you guys encounter any trouble, Derek, look inside the satchel I gave him."

I look and notice that Derek does indeed have a green satchel draped across his shoulders. He opens it and looks inside. "Wow. That's cool. Thanks, mate." He says.

       "They all are special. Some are normal. Some are sonic. Some are filled with anti frost, and able to freeze a person or vampire, ten times your size. They all have unique abilities. Some have a button you can press underwater that generates an impenetrable air bubble for you to float around in. Enjoy."

     Derek nods, and the line goes dead. "What did he give you? What was he talking about?" I ask.

  Derek reaches inside his satchel and pulls out a small bomb the shape of a skull. "It has a hole that you stick your finger in to activate. As soon as you pull your finger out of the hole, you have five seconds before the bomb goes off. But if you stick your finger inside the hole and leave it, you're safe as long as you don't remove your finger." He explains.

    I nod. "Well if we walk to Beefy Burgers, it's about 15 miles away. So, hop on," I tell him. He climbs onto my back and I super speed us towards Beefy Burgers. When we arrive we find Leo and some girl with hair the color of blood, standing up under a tree watching us. The whole Beefy Burger place is blown up.

        I halt to a stop under the tree. Derek falls off my back, dizzy. "What took you guys so long?" Leo asks.

        "Well besides the fact that we didn't know where you were, we just weren't in a damn hurry to have to listen to your big ass mouth again," I say, irritated.

    "So, mate," Derek says, standing up. "You killed that vampire, eh? How was the fight?"

    Leo smiles. "You guys should've seen it. It was totally EPIC!!!!! This is how it went. I stabbed him, he changed into a giant vampire, he hit me, I changed to GhostFreak, we charged at each other, he hit me, I hit him, he hit me, I hit him, he hit me, I hit him, he hit me, I hit h-"

        " ALRIGHT ALREADY!!!! WE GET IT!!!! IT WAS A YOU-HIT-ME-I-HIT-YOU SITUATION, JEEZ!!!!!!" I shout.

     Leo frowns. "Someone's grumpy today. Gosh, I was just telling my story. Anyways, I wanna introduce you guys to someone. DerekSelenaSelenaDerekSelenaJewelJewelSelenaDerekJewelJewelDerek, and, phew, that was a mouthful. Try saying all that fast without messing up."

         "Great," says Derek from the ground. "Now my bloody mind's dizzy, too."

  I reach out my hand to Selena and shake her hand. She smiles.

       I frown. "You're a vampire?" I ask.

   She nods. "Part of one anyway. I can't change into a giant red monster like the rest of them. But don't worry, I'm on your side."

          "That's good to know," Derek says getting up from the ground. "So you and Leo just met or have you known each other for awhile."

       "We were friends before I was killed," Leo says, flinching when he says 'Friends'.

      Derek springs up, excited. "Ha, you admit it!!!!!!" He shouts pointing at Leo, who looks around nervously,then back at Derek, frightened.

        "Admit what!?!?!? WHAT!?!?!?!" He cries as if someone's after him.

   "That you were MURDERED!!!!!!!!!!" Derek laughs, maniacally.

           "Oh, damn it!!" Leo says, spitting on the ground and snapping his fingers. He points at Derek. "That's all you're gonna know about it. And no one will EVER believe you. You guys wanna go grab some fries from Beefy Burgers?" He asks.

       Selena slaps him. "OW!!" He yells, glaring at her. "Hey, what the hell was that for?"

             "I blew the place up you stupid idiot," she says, slapping him again.

   "Uh, guys, we got trouble." Says Derek. We all look to where he's pointing. A man with a giant sword is walking towards us. He has a strange look in his eyes, and a mischievous grin on his face.

            "What's this asshole's problem?" Leo asks, rubbing his face where Selena slapped him. The guy holds up his hands in a 'come on' motion, and I notice a bunch of men come walking out of the shadows.

          Selena sniffs the air. "Vamps. Lots of them."

    "Yeah, no joke, Einstein. We could see that," Leo says.

           Selena sniffs the air again, and then bursts out laughing. We all stare at her.

  Leo sniffs under his arm. "What, I'm cool." He says.

          She shakes her head. "Not that. This day just keeps getting better and better. They're tracking us. They didn't think I'd be able to kill you, anyway."

         "Well duh. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that," Leo says. Followed by another slap to the head.

      "Ow!!!! What the hell's up with you slapping me lately. It hurts."

   I ignore them and keep watching as more and more vampires step out and surround us. "Guys. We're seriously outnumbered."

        The guy with the sword starts uttering a chant, as more and more, and even more vampires surround us.

        "What did he say?" Asks Derek.

   I shrug. "All I know is one thing... We're toast."
