I didn't go to school yesterday because I wasn't "feeling good." But apparently, Vicki is out the hospital! I'm honestly so relieved she's better. Then Elena went to Stefan's house yesterday to talk about something, and apparently Stefan has a brother. Caroline. Caroline has a new boyfriend I guess. Bonnie said that she saw this guy at the Grill after the party and they're a "thing." The comet came last night, I didn't go. I want to avoid Stefan as much as possible. But other than that, my day was pretty fine. But I have to deal with school today. It's about 7:56 am and I leave to school. I meet with Elena and Bonnie. I heard their conversation a little.
***
"I'm not saying don't date the guy, I'm just saying take it slow." Bonnie explained.
"You were the one who said go for it." Elena replies back. And that's when I come in. I don't want to hear the rest to be honest.
"Hey Ari." Bonnie and Elena say. I just do a small wave to them, to avoid the fact that I heard their conversation. Then suddenly Stefan appears. Great.
"Good morning Elena, Bonnie and Ari." Stefan says happily.
"Hey. Um, I gotta find Caroline. She's not answering her phone." Bonnie leaves. Leaving me left with Stefan and Elena. I definitely try not to make direct eye contact to Stefan mostly. I think he noticed because I looked up sometimes, and saw he looked concerned for me.
"I gotta go." I say rushed. I go to the bathroom and wash my face. I have history with Tanner. My "favourite" subject. Literally when I got there, I was 10 minutes late. I opened the door to Stefan answering.. dates? Stefan apparently outsmarted the "Tanner." Finally school was done, and cheerleading practice after school. I needed a distraction from this whole thing, and I love cheer. Elena and Bonnie walked up to me.
"Both of you are going to eat supper with me and Stefan. I don't care if you have something. I can clearly see you both don't like the guy, and he wants to make it right." Elena said.
"Uh..." I stuttered.
"No "uhhhh's" Elena said. "I don't care." Bonnie and I silently agreed. When we were finished with the fun chat, we see Caroline and... the guy who was fighting Stefan. I gasped right there, and Elena asked if I was okay. I sure was not. Whoever he was, he winked at me and mouthed something unpredictable. "Meet me later." I told Elena I wasn't feeling well so I went home.Stefan's POV
I got home from tryouts, and I saw Damon. Of course. He was reading my journal.
"How was tryouts? Did you make the team? Very Emerson, the way you reveal your soul with so many adjectives." Damon annoyingly says. I rip the journal out of his and ask,
"What are you doing here?" I ask blandly.
"I've come to apologize. I've been doing some thinking, some soul searching you could say. I want us to start over. We need to put the past behind us. You're my little brother, and if you want to live a normal, human life, then I want that for you. But, maybe I can do it too. That I can learn to be a non-living, living human. Maybe there's hope for us." I know Damon is lying. He's trying to hold his laughter.
"You know it doesn't have to be this way, Damon." I try to reason.
"Of course it doesn't. I saw Elena and Ari today, BTW. That means "by the way." They were both at cheerleading practice. But Elena. She looked perky in those shorts. And Ari. Woah. I can't even explain her. Ok now calm down Stefan. I didn't even go near them. I've got my own cheerleader, oh and that reminds me. I have a date, sweaty palms. Wish me luck! Damon leaves the room. I remember that Elena was talking about the supper with Bonnie and Ari. Ari seems like whenever she's around me she knows. I don't know if I should talk to her or not.Arizona's POV
I decide to look decent today for the supper, so I put on some leggings and a grey t-shirt. I put on mascara and leave my hair the way it is. I heard Elena grab the door for Stefan. I really wish this was over with. Soon we were all at the table, eating together, silently.
"So, did you guys hear that Tyler threw a ball at Stefan, and he caught it? Like Stefan wasn't even facing the way the ball was coming." Elena said proudly. That got my suspicions even higher.
"Yeah I heard." Bonnie said.
"So Bonnie, tell Stefan about your family?" Elena tries suggesting.
"Um. Divorced. No mom, live with my dad." Bonnie states briefly.
"No Bonnie, about the witches. She has a cool family lineage of witches. It's really cool." Elena said.
"Cool isn't the word I'd use." Bonnie said.
"Well, it is certainly interesting. I'm not too versed, but I do know there's a history of Celtic Druids that migrated here in the 1800's." Stefan says.
"My family came by the way of Salem." Bonnie adds.
"Really?" Stefan asks.
"Yeah." Bonnie opening up to Stefan.
"Really, why?" Bonnie asks.
"Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity." Stefan also adds.
"Yeah they are." Bonnie says proudly. And suddenly the doorbell rings.
"I can get it." I say. I stand and up open the door. I see the creepy guy and Caroline.
"Uh. Elena. Did you invite them?" I ask nervously. I didn't look straight at the guy, but I looked at Caroline. Elena comes over so does Stefan.
"Surprise! Bonnie says you were doing dinner, so we brought dessert! Caroline says with her big hearty smile.
"Hope you don't mind." The guy says. I still don't know his name.
"What are you doing here, Damon?" Stefan asks worriedly. Okay I know his name now.
"Waiting for Elena to invite me in." He adds.
"Oh yeah, you can.." Elena is interrupted by Stefan.
"No. He can't, uh, uh, stay. Can you Damon?" Stefan says.
"It's fine, come on in, Damon." Elena says happily. Damon enters the house, like he just cured cancer. Why was he so happy that he came in? To piss off his brother?
"You have a beautiful home Elena, and Ari." Damon says. As soon as he said my name I get the chills. Something about the Salvatore's are off. We all sat at the table again. Damon directly on the other side of the table. The first thing we start off talking about is cheerleading. Great. The conversation is just about routines from Caroline, then Damon blurts out to me,
"You don't seem like the type to cheer, Ari." Damon says.
"I've been cheerleading since I was 7 I don't do it much anymore. I lost my skill at it." I say shyly.
"Just because her parents died. Yeah because she's going through a phase, Ari used to be way more fun. She didn't care about anyone or anything but her parents changed that. And I say that with complete sensitivity. Caroline just blurts out. I couldn't deal with that so I just left the table to go to my room saying,
"Excuse me."
My parents were a sensitive subject, and when she talked about them like that. Caroline has changed. Ever since Damon. A few minutes passed and no one has come checked up on me. I wanted comforting, but I didn't either. I lay on my bed writing in my diary.
"You know, today wasn't very good. I should've never came back. This town has changed for the worse. I love my family but I don't know what happened or changed. What Caroline said I don't know why I couldn't keep it in. Sometimes I wish I don't have to feel anything. It'll be a miracle.
"You alright?" I jump as I hear the voice. Damon.
"Yes. Of course I'm fine." I say trying to keep my tears in.
"Uh could you go, I don't want to see anyone right now." I say very rudely. But I don't care. I hurt and the hurt is reflecting off. I lay down on my bed facing the other way so he doesn't see my face. I don't know if he's gone. I sniffle. I don't turn around still, and Damon leaves. Why does he care so much about me I don't even know him. After a couple of minutes, I decide to get my shit together and fix my face. Everyone downstairs is cleaning up, while I'm being a crybaby. So I decide to go downstairs and try to deal with everyone. Elena looks at me, and it seems like she's looking at a broken toy. She comes in for a hug and I deny it. I know it's not very nice of me, but I can deal with my problems by myself. Caroline, Bonnie and, Elena are doing the dishes so I look for the guys. I see they're talking so I hind behind the wall and try to listen what they're talking about.
"They're people, Damon. She isn't a puppet. She doesn't exist for your amusement, for you to feed on whenever you want to." Stefan says.
"Sure, she does. They all do. They're whatever I want them to be. They're mine for taking." Damon says.
"All right you had your fun. You used Caroline, you got to meet Elena, and Ari. Good for you. Now it's time for you to go." Stefan seems to get fed up.
"That's not a problem. Because, I've been invited in, and I'll come back tomorrow night, and the following night, and I'll do whatever with the cheerleaders. Because that's what is normal to me." Damon excitedly says.
"What the hell." I say very quietly under my breath, but I hear them get up, so I go back to the girls.
"Hey guys." Elena says to Stefan and Damon.
"Well, I think Caroline and I should go." Damon suggests still looking at me. I don't want to make eye contact because Stefan and Damon are looking at me. Soon enough Damon and Caroline are gone. Stefan leaves also as well as Bonnie. Elena and I go to our bedroom and both go to sleep. But I can't. Sleeping is the least of my problems right now. But soon I do fall asleep. I wake up 7:48 am. I'm late for school. After School; Football Game
I go to the bonfire for Tanner to announce about the wolves. Exciting. I don't really care, so I get a drink. I hear Tyler yelling, and this can't be good. I see Tyler and Jeremy start fighting. Stefan tries to pull Tyler off, and Jeremy is still trying to fight. What a dumbass. So Jeremy grabbed a broke beer bottle and strikes at Tyler, which he dodged and hit Stefan instead. I clearly saw it go in Stefan, and there's no blood. What the hell. Stefan makes eye contact with me and I leave. I really start to think how it's possible that he could've dodged it, but sure enough everyone saw it. I walk to the parking lot and see a man. I walk back trying to keep my cool, but he says my name and its Damon.
"Uh, hi, Damon." I say.
"What are you up to?" Damon smirks.
"Just taking a walk." I'm starting to get a little blurry after a couple of drinks so I start to wobble.
"So what are you doing." I say back to him.
"Caroline talks too much, making me go nuts." Damon replies.
"She can do that." I say very quietly.
"Sorry I make you uncomfortable, Ari. It's not my intention." Damon says.
"Yes it is. You clearly are trying to make uncomfortable by saying and doing all these weird things." I said too much, I drank and now I'm speaking my mind.
"What do you mean?" Damon getting closer.
"Nevermind." I walk back but he grabs my wrist.
"What do you mean, Arizona." Damon looks in my eyes. That's when I knew. His eyes were something that you couldn't forget. They were unforgettable.
"The first time I saw you, you and Stefan were fighting. I saw you both fly out of a window. I heard you talking yesterday. About Caroline. About Elena, and even about me." I didn't know why I said those things. I wasn't going to tell anyone.
"And you know too much." Damon says unimpressed.
"What?" I say scared.
"You haven't put the pieces together. I thought you would've been smarter." Damon explains.
"Let me go." I try to stand up for myself.
"You can't go anywhere." Damon starts dragging me somewhere else.
"Stop, please." I beg. Then I black out.chapter 4 - edited more or less
