~After she said this to me, all I could think of was how it all started. ~

I woke up to a pretty normal morning but I felt like something was different.

I got on the bus and everything was silent. All I could think was 'where is the usual chaos that I have gotten used to?' I looked around the bus to see if someone wasn't there that would cause this chaos, but everyone was there. I didn't think much of it after that.

At school, my teacher at the time, Ms. Blanchard said "We are going to have a special guest speaker today. He will be talking to us about.." Then the bell rang for lunch. When the time came for his speech, we all sat around the mat and waited patiently for his arrival. He never showed up which was weird. Ms. Blanchard never told us who was supossed to speak that day or what he was supossed to tell us.

After school, me and my friend at the time, Paige walked home together and on that walk we we ran into Mr. Gold.

He stopped us and asked "Anna, will you come with me?". I was hesitant, but my curiousity got the best of me. So I said "Paige, wait here." and followed Gold to his shop across the street.

He walked behind the counter and took out a dusty, old book and ploped it down. I walked up and blew off the dust. The cover read "Once Upon a Time". I was intrigued but hesitant because everyone in town always said "Never trust Gold. He has a way of twisting words." I didn't understand what that meant exactly but I didn't care.

I took the book because ever since I was young I wasn't allowed to read fairytales. My mother wouldn't allow me to. I understand now why she wouldn't but then I didn't really mind. I had always wanted to read one and it was exciting to have a secret from my mother.

She was pretty strict and I didn't think she liked me very much. I was postive she regreted ever having me. I didn't really look like her but I always imagined what my father would look like.

Tall, masculine, blond, and very kind. My mother was thin, had dark colored hair, and usually a grumpy face. I asked her once what my father looked like but she acted like she didn't hear me. She doesn't have anything of his or anything to show that he even existed. I guessed she had just thrown them away.

I ended up at the pier and sat on the shore. I studied the book thinking about if I wanted to betray my mother. It was her big rule.

I remember once, Ms. Blanchard told us the story of Little Red Riding Hood. I was raving all day about it.

Once I got home, I slipped up and said something from it and my mother was furious. I was afraid she was going to have Ms. Blanchard fired. She can do that because she is the mayor of the town and she could make anything happen. She didn't end up doing it.

I continued with the book and opened it up to the first story.

The story of the princess, Snow White. I started to read, leaving the

pictures for last. When I had finished, I was in love with the story.

It is still my favorite of all.

I went back and started to look at the pictures inside the book.
