Chapter One: I have a home!

I lay in a bed. On both sides other babies cried. 'How much londer will I be in here?' I wondered all the time. Monthes had passed by already and nobody has come to get me! I wanted my mommy! I miss her!

Four monthes, I was in the hospital. Nobody knew I was alive! Nobody cared about me. I didn't have a home. No mother or father. I didn't have a family! Where will my love come from?

I was picked up today! Finally! But, I was kind of sad because it wasn't my mommy that got me. As we were heading home I heard her talking.

"Hey little one! I'm your Aunt Lisa! Your mommy isn't in a very good place right now. But, soon she'll be home and love you from then on! You have two older brothers! Their names are Anthony Ray O'Dell and Andrew Kenneth O'Dell Your name is Sondra Ann O'Dell."

At the sound of what I would be called, I cringed inside. Why? I don't know. But, I was excited to be going home! I had two brothers that I knew would love me! I wanted to see my mommy again! To hear her voice and laugh. I wanted her to hold me again!

I began wondering,"where is my daddy?"

Almost as if she read my mind, my Aunt Lisa said,"Your father won't be around. He isn't a very good person. I'm sorry but you won't ever know him."

My heart broke then! How was I supposed to live without my daddy?! Who was going to teach me how to ride a bike? Or show me how to fix my heart?

By the time my thoughts were finished, we had arrived at the house!

Wow! It was so pretty! There was flowers and trees all around the place! I knew I would have so much fun here right then! It was two stories high! I never thought I'd live in such a big house!

When Aunt Lisa carried me inside it was like there was a huge crowd of like twenty people right there!

Were they all related to me?

Where are my bubbas??

Just then I got picked out of Aunt Lisa's hands into a smaller set of hands. I stared up into Anthony's big, brown eyes and smiled.

That was my big bubba! He was going to help me all the time! I giggled a bit at that thought.

I have a family! I have a home! I love life so much!
