Family; Chapter 1

It was the middle of winter, you and Shinoa were walking out of school and having some small talk like usual. "Hey Y/N..." Shinoa said with a mischievous grin on her face. You knew that wasn't a good sign. "Yeah.." You answered a bit worried. "Do you like anybody?" She said calmly. "Oh. Hmm not really, I've been so focused on school I haven't really thought about having a boyfriend." You replied. "Awe, that's too bad. I'm sure you'll find someone out there someday!" Shinoa said. "Maybe..." you looked at Shinoa, "So Shinoa..." You said with a smirk. "Don't you have the hots for Yuu" you said as you giggled evily and looked at her. Shinoas face turned bright red. "W-whaaaat! N-NO!" she shot back. You just laughed, knowing that she actually did like him. "Don't play dumb! I know you like him!" You chuckled. "Ok...maybe a little" she said. "HA! I KNEW IT- you were caught off by Yuu panting and running towards you and Shinoa. "Yuu What's wrong?!" You both yelled. "You two have to hurry! The Vampires have invaded! Follow me! Guren wants to see all of us immediately!" You and Shinoa nodded and followed him to Gurens office. When you entered his office you saw Guren and Shinya talking with very serious and worried expressions on their faces. "Guren! I brought Shinoa and Y/N!" Yuu reported. "Good" he said. "Listen up twerps! This is not a joke, the vampires have already started raiding the villages! We don't have Much time so you three will all be apart of a squad with Y/N as the leader!" You gulped, "But sir! I've never lead a squad befo- he interrupted you "I have put you in-charge of this squad because I think you'd be good for this mission and that is final!" He yelled at you. You nodded. Shinya put his hand on your shoulder and smiled a warm smile as usual, "You'll be fine Y/N! I know you will!" He assured you. You gave him a big hug. You have known Guren and Shinya ever since you were kids. Although they were a bit older, you always hung out with them. Now your usual group of friends is Guren, Shinya, and Shinoa and Yuu. You cherished all of your friends so much as if they were family. You were leading Yuu and Shinoa. Their lives were in your hands. You aren't gonna let them die no matter what the cost. Guren smiled at you and said "Ok! Get going me and Shinya's squad will be there soon to back you up!" All three of you nodded, grabbed your cursed gear and sprinted off to the village to kick some ass. When you arrived there were Vampires everywhere. It was an absolute disaster. At every corner you saw a vampire drinking an innocent humans blood. "Alright guys. Let's get going!" You said with a smirk as you plunged toward a vampire and thrusted your sword through its heart. You watched as it turned to ash and it's white cape fall to the ground. Shinoa and Yuu did the same.
When you had defeated every vampire in that area you decided to take your squad and move to the next. "This way" you said as you turned the corner and Shinoa and Yuu followed. There wasn't a vampire insight. "I wonder if Gurens squad already took them out?" You said slightly confused. You were interrupted by a familiar chuckle. You turned around to see the one and only Lord Ferid Bathory. You stepped in front of Yuu and Shinoa not wanting them to get hurt as you gave Ferid a glare. "Oh? Why the cold expression, do you not like me?" Ferid said as he fondled a piece of your h/c hair. You stepped back in shock. You didn't even see him move toward you. "Damn he's fast," you said as you got out your sword. "Come on Y/N we can take him!" Yuu said as he also pulled out his sword. "Right!" You nodded. Shinoa and Yuu took him from behind, and wounded Ferids shoulder as he barely dodged there attack. "Damnit!" Shinoa said "We almost had him!" Ferid turned around and chuckled, "It will take more than that to kill me, my little lambs!" He grabbed Yuu and Shinoa by the neck and threw them against a nearby building, knocking the both of them unconscious. "Yuu! Shinoa!" You screamed as you ran after them. Unfortunately Your path was blocked by the purple haired, vampire noble. He laughed, "I've had my eye on you for quite some time, Y/N" "How do you know my name!?" You barked as you gripped your sword. Ferid chuckled, "I know all of my little livestocks names!" You bit your lip in anger and darted toward him and pushed your sword against his neck,"How dare you hurt my family. I'll kill you right now you son of a bitch!" You said to him in a rather intimidating voice. Although he wasn't intimidated, as a matter of fact, he just laughed. You looked at him with a confused expression. Ferid grabbed you by the neck and raised you in the air, so much as your feet didn't even touch the ground anymore. "You really are an interesting one Y/N, I like you. It's a shame I have to kill such a beautiful young girl," he said as he continued to play with your hair. You wanted to slap his hand away but your hands were busy trying to pry his hand off of your neck. He opened his mouth with a grin and was about to sink his fangs into your neck but before he could, he noticed another vampire coming in and greeted him, still holding onto your neck. You tried to see who he was talking to but your vision was starting to go blurry from his tight grip on your neck. "Mika!" You heard Ferid say as he placed his hand on Mikas shoulder. "Say Mika, you look rather thirsty! Did you forget to bring some of Kruls blood along?" Ferid said. Mika nodded his head and you felt yourself be moved in the direction of the other vampire, Mika. "If your so thirsty why don't you just drink some of her blood." Ferid said as he still held you by your neck. The blonde haired vampire looked at you with his big beautiful blue eyes and shook his head. "I don't need it!" You heard the young vampire say as he took you away from Ferid and placed you gently onto the floor. Ferid smiled, "Oh fine you win Mika, but you'll have to drink a human's blood sooner or later" he said to Mika before he left. Mika looked at you as you laid on the floor defenseless and unable to move. You noticed that his eyes were filled with pain and blood lust. Mika turned around and started following Ferid. You sighed in relief and unable to keep your eyes open, you closed them, until you heard the sound of someone running toward you. You opened your eyes and looked to see the blonde vampire racing toward you with a blood lust look. You got on your feet, pulled out your sword and pointed it at him. You felt a strange pain in your neck "What the hell?" you turned around to see another vampire injecting a fluid into you that made you weak and you could feel your legs starting to go numb. You bit your lip and held your sword, your legs were shaking as they struggled to stay up. Before you could even blink you felt someone grab you by the neck and pin you to the floor. You looked up to see that the young vampire, Mika was on top of you, looking straight into your eyes. You could almost sense his thirst for blood. He tightened his grip on your neck and raised you into the air and pushed you against a nearby wall. You yelped a little in pain. Shinoa regained consciousness and saw you pinned against a wall by a vampire, she gasped "Y/N!!!" She screamed. You looked at her "RUN!" You Yelled. "TAKE YUU AND GET OUT OF HERE!"
"IM NOT LEAVING HERE WITHOUT YOU!" Shinoa yelled back. "I can't feel any part of my body anymore! I don't think I'm gonna make it out if this one," you said as you smiled at her, tears streamed out of your beautiful e/c eyes, "Please just take Yuu and get out of here!" Shinoa started to cry too, she obeyed and grabbed Yuu and ran to safety. Mika looked at you, "Why sacrifice yourself for them?" He asked you. You smiled at him, "Because...because they are my family, and I'll protect them with everything I got."

That was when you realized to protect them, you had to stay alive, they would be suffering with sadness if you died, you didn't want that to happen. You looked at Mika dead in the eye, put together all of the strength you had left and kicked him as hard as you could in the crotch. He fell to his knees, releasing you from his grip and holding his crotch in pain. "O-Okay, I know I was gonna kill you, but couldn't you have kicked me somewhere else?" He said as he took a deep breath in pain. You giggled "ehehe nop- before you could finish what you were going to say you fell to ground, your whole body was still numb from whatever that one vampire injected into your body.
"D-Damnit..." You said as you were struggling to pull yourself up on a nearby railing. It was no use though you couldn't escape. You looked over at the young vampire and noticed he was crying and holding his side in pain.
"Mika? What's wrong?!" You asked him still trying to pull yourself up. He looked at you with his sad, blue, puppy dog eyes, "I-I've been trying to fight it for so long, N-NO MORE! I CANT HANDLE THE PAIN, I NEED BLOOD!" He sobbed. You looked at him and sighed, "If you need blood so bad...." You gulped, "Then drink mine!" Mika looked at you still holding his aching side. "I'm not going to do that." He said. "WHY NOT!" You shot back. "B-because if I do, I'll become a full Vampire, I'll lose every ounce of humanity I have left in me.." He cried. You walked over to him leaning on a wall as you walked, your legs were still quite numb. You pulled out your sword and cut your wrist so u could cause it to bleed. "Here! It doesn't matter if you become a vampire its better than you dying!" You didn't know why you were putting your life at risk for someone you literally just met. But it was too late to turn back now.
Mika licked his lips as he saw your crimson red blood drip from your wrist onto the floor. He grabbed both of your wrists and pinned you to the floor. "I'm sorry for this..." Mika then sunk his teeth into your neck, still keeping a tight grip on your wrist. You blushed lightly and closed your eyes. You could feel Mika's warm tears against your neck. You stroked his soft blonde locks. Suddenly you heard the footsteps of more than one person.
"Y/N! Y/N! WHERE ARE YOU! PLEASE ANSWER!"
You heard those words being screamed not too far from where you were, you already knew who they were by just the sound of their voices. It was Shinya, Guren, and Yuu.
