Diana's POV —
It's Friday and Vic hasn't been to school all week. Was he really avoiding me? I really doubt he was even sick like he said he was.
Fourth period was over and I start walking to my fifth period. On Friday's our school days are cut short. Meaning our classes are only 26 minutes long.
I was expecting to go another day without seeing Vic, but to my surprise he was actually at school. I run up to him and give him a hug, "Vic, I missed you. Where have you been?"
Vic hugs me back, "I told you I've been sick. I couldn't risk coming to school and getting others sick."
I looked right into Vic's eyes. I could so tell he was lying. After Vic said that I released from the hug and slowly walked away from. As I was walking away, Vic grabbed at my hand.
"Hey, what's wrong, Diana?"
"Why are you lying to me? I know you weren't sick, Vic. If you don't want to be with me, all you have to do is tell me and I'll back off." I say as I turn to look at him.
Vic gave me a perplexed look. He then shook his head, "I do want to be with you, I do. Things are just complicated."
I let go of Vic's hand, "What's the complication? My dad? Vic, who cares what my dad thinks? It's between me and you, nobody else. Not even my parents. Now, I'm really having second thoughts on you."
Vic hurriedly shook his head.
"Well, Vic, if you really want me to be with you, then fight to be with me. Show my parents that you're not what they think. It's pretty damn simple."
"But, it isn't simple, Diana." Vic says almost in a whisper as he bows his head.
"Whatever, Vic. I thought you would've fought—" Vic interrupts me as he plants his lips upon mine. It was rather a hurried kiss; probably just to shut me up.
Vic releases from the kiss and puts his forehead against mine, "Diana, will you please be my girlfriend? I promise I will fight for you."
All I could do was nod my head. Vic then smiles.
We were broke out of our moment as Mrs. Butler walks into the Choir room. "Sorry I'm late class. I was busy setting up for tonight. So, can everyone please take your seats."
Vic held my hand as we walked to our seats.
"So, we're not doing anything today in class, I just want to inform you about tonight," Mrs. Butler began, "I want everyone in black and white formal wear. We have to look nice and make a good impression on everyone. Make sure your hair looks nice, and please no headwear."
I softly giggled at the last part Mrs. Butler had said. Please no headwear. I knew she was implying that on Vic, being that he's always got a hat on.
"So, does headwear include everyone that goes on top of our head?" I ask.
"Well, depends on what you mean with your question."
"I kind of bought this new flower crown, and I really hoping I could wear it tonight." I smile at Mrs. Butler, hoping she'd let me wear my flower crown.
Mrs. Butler sighed, "Sure, you can wear it. As long as it doesn't have any bright colors on it."
I smiled and nodded. After that, the bell rang.
"Okay, well. I guess that's it for today. I want everyone to be here by 6:30. That way we have a half hour to rehearse if anyone needs to." Mrs. Butler stated before she dismissed class.
