Callie's POV:
I wake up with Brandon's arm around me and my head on his chest. I lift up my hand and look at the engagement ring on my finger. It was real, everything that happened last night was real. Brandon Foster asked me to marry him and I was weak. I cried more than I had in a very long time and I broke. I broke into a million pieces. I've always had a wall that I refused to let break, well I have many walls that I refuse to let break, but last night, last night was one of the worst, showing fear. Not showing fear is a rule that I never break, never. Last night I broke it, I was weak and I broke my rule. Yes I know that it was only Brandon and me last night, but I hate that side of me. I don't was anyone to see it. I guess if I was going to show that side of me to anyone it should be Brandon and it was so it makes me feel a little better, but not much.
I love Brandon and I want to marry him, but being married to him and saying how much I love him in words, even though they could never truly express my love for him, in front of all of the other people that I love and then he leave me right after and maybe never come back home to me? That would be the worst feeling in world and I don't think that I could survive it, no I know that I wouldn't survive it.
I stare at the ring. A thin gold band and a diamond heart in the middle with a gold setting to keep it in place and make the heart more prominent. On either side of the heart there is a small diamond set in the band. I take it off and flip it around with my fingers and see that there is something etched on the inside. It says My heart is yours forever Callie, B.
A tear slips down my cheek and onto Brandon's bare chest. Every doubt or worry that I had about marrying him disappears (not the fear of him not coming home, that fear will be there until he is home safely and I'm in his arms.). His arms around me tighten and I glance up at his face to see his eyelids fluttering open, his amazing blue eyes hypnotizing me, making me smile without free will.
"I love you." I say and then reach my neck up to kiss him. He meets me half way, his warm lips on mine, the moment felt like it could last forever, and I wanted it to.
He pulls his lips away from mine and smiles. "I love you too." I smile and close my eyes, snuggling closer to him and savor inc the moment. Waking up next to him every morning is something that I could definitely get used to. "Are you okay? You know, no second thoughts or anything?" The way he asks sounds sad, like he thinks that I don't want to marry him and never will, like he thinks that he's not good enough for me, when truly it's the other way around.
"Absolutely not. Brandon Foster, I can't wait to marry you." I state as I look up at him. The sun from the windows was shining perfectly on his face, making his tan skin glow.
His straight and defeated expression turned into a huge smile, ear to ear. "Thank God."
"Were you really that worried? Brandon, I love you so much. Last night was just, well, last night was me being stupid and moronic and being a jackass, okay? I want nothing more but than to marry you." I felt like a terrible person. He proposed and I acted terribly, so bad that I made him doubt my feelings for him. It made me want to cry. He thought that I would just up and change my mind the next day. Thinking back to my behavior last night, I can see why he would think that. He asked and I ran, cried, and then said yes. I took something that was supposed to be magical, something every girl dreams about, and I ruined it.
"Good," he says exhaling. "I love you so much and I wouldn't know what to do it you changed your mind."
"I don't deserve you."
"I don't deserve you Callie Jacob."
"You know what we have to do next, right?" I smile. "It's highly dangerous."
