         -Sheila-

We arrive back at the HQ in no time. Thomas is awake again. Inside we see Jewel and some vampire girl standing over Leo. He's shirtless, and heavily bandaged. There's cuts and blood all over him. He's still unconscious.

"What happened?" I ask. Jewel opens her mouth to answer but is interrupted by Leo awakening.

"Whoa!!! Where's Derek? I need to talk with him. Blowing me off the field DEFINITELY not part of the script."

Jewel bites her lip. "Yeah? Well Derek's gone, possibly dead. What happened back there? Why'd he set off a bomb?"

    "Well he-"

"Guys!!! Guys!!! You've gotta see this!!!!!! Come on it's the live video contact!!!!!!!" Yells Jacob.

Leo rolls off the table, gently and staggers into the front room. Everyone else follows. Inside on the humongous television are the words, Please Watch This.

Once everyone's seated, Derek plays the video feed. There's this big vampire dude with shades on, and a cocky smile. There's this big curtain behind him. It's moving and there's sounds coming from behind it.

"That's Vordak," says the vamp girl. "The King."

"Greeting's everyone," he says. "As you well know, I am seeking a book, which you have stolen. It belongs to a friend. Mr. Danger and Mr. Typhus are the original one's who stole it. And thereby they've doomed you to a fate none of you want. I just want you to know, that if I don't receive the book in the next hour. We will hunt you down and slaughter you one by one. The killing has already started with Mr. Danger, though I had nothing to do with that death. It was Mr. Typhus who blew the bomb and killed him. Anyways, here's your surprise. The first death starts now. Look around are you missing anyone?"

I immediately do a headcount. Everyone's he- Oh god!!! "Marcus!!!" I shout. Fear flashes across Jewel's face.

Vordak laughs. "Yep. Now for a little motivation, I advise you to watch. Boys?" Vordak snaps his fingers and some vamps remove the curtain. Inside is Marcus strapped to a machine. Each of his limbs are strapped with a chain to a different part of the machine. He has a gag in his mouth. I immediately recognize the machine.

Jewel screams and puts her hand to her mouth. "Oh god!!!! That's gonna rip him apart!!!!!!!"

There are tears in Marcus's eyes. Everyone in the room is on edge. "That bastard," says Andrew. Thomas growls something. Jewel cries and Selena wraps her arms around her. Jacob punches a wall. I just shake my head, trying to hold down my anger. Leo just stares at the screen with a strange intensity in his eyes. Then he grabs Derek's backpack which has the book inside. He takes the book out and stares at it.

"All this for a book," he whispers.

Vordak steps aside so we can see the machine and gestures at it. "Behold my masterpiece. Now I want you to savor this moment as I do. And we're rolling boys." Some vamps begin to crank the machine and the rusty chains begin to squeak and pull taut. Marcus screams.

"I can't watch!!!!" Jewel cries, as she turns and sobs in Selena's arms who wraps her arms around her. I feel my jaw tighten as I stare at the monstrosity.

By the time it's over, Jacob, Andrew, and Thomas get up to go puke after seeing the sight of a kid being tore limb from limb. The video ends.

Besides the sounds of their retching, all is silent except Jewel's loud sobbing. She turns and glares at Leo. "This is all your fault!!!!!! If you, if you would've just gave him the stupid book, like he asked."

     "But I-"

"Yeah, man. You killed Jacob. What was up with that?" Asks Jacob, angrily.

Leo looks lost for words. "But he s-"

"Yeah, no one really wants you here anyway," says Andrew, glaring at him.

           "Well, I-"

Jewel continues sobbing loudly. "You stupid prick!!!!!! MY BROTHER IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!!!!! DEAD!!!!! YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN US ROPED IN THIS MESS!!!!"

Leo looks around, sadly, trying to get backup from someone. But sadly, no sympathy rests in the room for him. "I-I just wanted to be the hero for once."

Andrew scoffs, and smiles angrily. "Well you're not. You're not a bloody hero and you never will be."

Leo looks down. Then he grabs the book and his fingers tighten around it. "Fine!!!! I'll return the fucking book. I-I don't need any of you." His voice goes quieter now. "So silly of me to think I was a hero. Sorry, to cause you the inconvenience of dealing with me."

He gets up, clutching the book, and walks out the room. I sigh, and sit back.
