I consider that every day grants you a new opportunity of changing your way of life. For good or for wrong, that becomes a decision that every person must take at a certain point. Some of us overthink most of the things that are of our concern becoming not only a constant in our mind, but an obstacle in our way.
I heard a knock on my door. I checked my watch and it read 2 a.m. Time had passed so quickly, and I hadn't even noticed.
The knocking on the door became louder, faster, almost as if someone was trying to break into my room. Whom could it be it was too early. I began to walk towards the door with uncertainty of what could happen once I opened.
My heart began to race, my hand was trembling, and I could feel a cold drop of sweat running down my forehead. I slowly turned the doorknob, to try to make the least noise I could.
Gently, I opened the door to find no one around. All I found was a book on the floor. It was named "The Man of Many Shadows" and it had a page marked. I made a quick glimpse through the book and something fell to the floor.
I picked it up and closed the door. I turned the lights on and inside of the book I found a room key numbered 301 and a paper with an address written on it:
"3102 The Night Hotel, San Diego, California"
