The Death Of Lila

Footsteps thudded the ground as a cloaked woman ran through the forest. The angry shouts of people behind her disturbed the peace of the forest even further. Lila looked down into the blue sash around her body and at her sleeping twins. Stanford wanted them for sacrifice, for something sinister that made Lila run faster. "You can't run forever Lila! I will have those twins you hear me!" Lila heard Stanford shout angrily behind her as the beam of a laser shot past her. "Not on your life Stan!" Lila continued to run until a laser finally struck her leg. A hiss of pain escaped her as she tumbled to the ground. The twins began to holler out their own scared cries. Stanford laughed in triumph as the cult was coming closer. Lila tried to stand and keep running but an unholy snap from her leg told her she couldn't continue. She desperately looked around for a hiding spot as she saw the first shadow coming closer. A deep hole had caught her eye and Lila gave her babies one last kiss as she wrapped them in the sash and lowered them into it. A warm barrel of a gun was pointed at the back of her head as the cult surrounded her. "Give me the children Lila and this can be all over in an instant" Stanford said behind her, the barrel scraping the back of her hair. "I will never give you my children" Lila growled out staring at everyone in hatred. Stanford chuckled, "don't worry you won't have to, I'll find them myself". Lila heard the gun click and she closed her eyes feeling tears spring, she gave a sad smile as Stanford pulled the trigger.
