First Day

It was my first day here in Alola, I moved here with my older brother, Russell. We moved here from Kalos so it's a pretty big change, we used to be Team Flare grunts but we had to tell them good bye when our evil (hates the bad guys) mother kicked us out of the house and gave us tickets to Alola. I still have my pokemon and I love them dearly.

"Hey Russell," he looked at me questioningly, "do you miss Team Flare?" I asked unpacking the Team Flare suits. I heard a knock on the door and immediately hissed to Russell, "Hide the suits." Just as Russell hide the uniform someone entered the house. I grabbed my bright red beanie and put it on then ran down the stairs. I stopped on the stairs when I saw a man wearing a white lab coat, brown shorts, and no shirt waiting by the table. Oh no.

You see the reason that me and Russell joined Team Flare was because Russell fell for the boss, Lysandre. That's why Russell joined, I joined to make sure Russell didn't rape the poor man like he did to our childhood friend, Red, when they were 11 years old (before he moved to Kanto). I prayed that Russell would stay upstairs and away from this man. "The name's Professor Kukui. Yours must be Benita, am I right?" I nodded and went down the rest of the stairs.

"Good to meet you, cousin! You gotta be tired after that long trip all the way out here to Alola! You feelin' any jet lag? We sure are a long way from Kalos out here in Alola. It's still nighttime out here!" My prayers weren't answered because coming down the stairs wearing his usual black and red hoodie came Russell with his chespin in tow. "Professor Kukui! Yes, we just arrived yesterday." I could tell from the hearts in his eyes that my big brother already. liked him.

"Hey there, Russell! I just let myself in. Oh, and call me Kukui, would you? Welcome to Alola!" Just then Russell tried to flirt with the professor but each time he tried he got shot down. "Hey now, Benita! Let's get a move on to the next town over, cousin! Time for you to meet the Island kahuna and get yourself a pokemon!" Russell smiled and sat next to his chespin. "They'll simply give my sister a pokemon? Then the kahuna really is worth meeting! Hurry and get ready, Benita! Your bag and delphox are still in the room."

At the mention of delphox, chespin hid in Russell's arms. I laughed at the pokemon and ran upstairs. I dug through one of the box's next to my bed and found my poké belt, my bag, and my delphox's pokeball. I let delphox out and we fled downstairs, me and delphox were surprised when we saw Russell behaving himself for once when around a guy. "You look ready for anything now. Have a good time out there! I'll catch up when I'm done unpacking our room. I'll be sure to have everything cleaned up and put away by the time you come back with your new pokémon!"

That's one of the reasons my big bro is so great, he will take care of anything if you're busy and he was willing to work and pay for the house instead of try to find the bad guys and join them and help them steal pokémon.

"Let's get going to Iki town, it's time for you to get a real nice pokémon from the island kahuna!" I put delphox back in her ball and waved goodbye to Russell before walking out of the house. I turned left and saw Kukui waiting for me at a split in the road, "Now this is more like it! Welcome to paradise, cousin. This is the Alola region! Folks here in Alola get along by living together with pokémon and working together, too. You can go anywhere as long as you got pokémon helping you out here. That's why we gotta get you to the kahuna!" I tilted my head at the strange man, didn't he see delphox?

He walked off, up a hill leaving me to follow. I was half way up the hill when I bent down to catch my breath, "I really need to work on my cardio." I breathed out before getting up and walking again. After walking up the hill I met with Kukui again, "So, Benita! You're lovin' Alola already, yeah?" I shrugged and looked down, "...I guess I don't like all the hills though." I said shyly before looking up again, "Hey, don't sweat it, cousin. It's pretty normal to feel a bit unsure when you're in a new place." He said placing his hand on my shoulder.
