When your five you have a pretend boyfriend. When your ten you start to really like boys. When your fifteen you have your first kiss. When your twenty, you get in a serious relationship. At age twenty five you get married. Or is that just what I think?
My name is Victoria Jacobson. I'm twenty one years old and a single mother to a five year old. When I was fifteen some guy screwed me over and got my pregnant. Throughout all high school a felt fat, unwanted, and ugly. I wanted nothing else then to be liked. I would see all these beautiful women around me and I always wanted to be one. And now I am. I'm a model for Victoria Secret. After I graduated from high school I lost thirty pounds and got a fifty dollar hair cut and dyed my hair. Instead of college a got a job. Now my little five year old girl, Esther, is being raised by my mother when I couldn't afford to pay for her.
I walked swiftly into the coffee shopping, trying to escape the cold air nipping at exposed skin. The smell of coco beans greeted me and I suddenly warmed when I saw a familiar face behind the counters.
"Hey." I greeted setting my purse on the counter.
"Hi Vicky." He returned.
A frown appeared on my face as I looked my best friend in the eyes, "My names Victoria!"
"I know, I know." he chuckled.
"Hey! Victoria! It me eh?" a man from the back of the store. He rested his hand on my best friends shoulder.
"Hey Canadian." I answered.
"You never manage to remember my name eh?" He laughed.
"I don't need to." I smiled.
"Well me shift is done, you better start working boy."
"Ya JJ. Work already!" I laughed.
"Haha so fun Vicky." He mocked.
"Jason!" I complained.
"Bye children." Canadian said as he left the building.
"Bye!" I waved back. "I want the usual."
"Aye Aye Captain!" Jason saluted, marching to the kitchen. I laughed and smoothed out my long brown hair. I quickly checked my make up in the reflection of the glass covering the donuts.
"You look beautiful my lady." Jason complemented handing me my coffee. My heart started beating faster as I took the cup.
"Why thank you." I grinned giving him the money.
"Wait, Tori!" Jason called before I left.
"Yes, JJ?" I asked.
"Make sure you swing by after work. I have a surprise for you." He said, suddenly mischievous.
"You know my birthday was like a month ago."
"Really? Dam this my birthday present to you." He stated.
"It better be good." I told him, pushing the door with my back.
"It will be. I promise."
I laughed and continued my journey in the cool October morning. I took a gentle swift of my coffee, pulling my coat around me tighter. I looked around at the empty road, no cars or people. I glanced at my phone. 6:45. Then a car slowly emerged from a parking lot.
"Victoria!" I heard someone call. I turned towards the car, a breeze swung my hair into my hair. I felt a hand on my arm and I immediately moved back. I held back my hair to reveal a small, fragile man in front of me. The grey car I saw earlier was parked behind him.
