I'm really interested in reading and writing at the moment and would real appreciate your criticism. I still have a long way to go but really want to make an impression, so please - criticism is ALWAYS welcome. Please boost my self-esteem too and vote, comment ( even if it is just at the end coz I can never be bothered anyway), and share ( how you do that is a mystery to me).

Thank you, hope you like it.

Chapter 1: They're here in the flesh and bone.

My mouth opened but no sound came out. My brain told my body to turn and run, but I was shaking too much to do anything other than tug on Matt's arm. He had finished taking off his shoes and stepped into the house; his attention elsewhere until his eyes landed on the bodies of our parents, or more along the lines of flesh, bone, meat and organs chucked into two piles. I saw him put a hand to his mouth, shocked for a minute before stalking over to the phone and dialing the police.

Whilst he was talking to the police I heard a noise off to my left. I shuffled over to the rail and gasped. Down below, laid out with limbs, were the words 'YOU CANNOT HIDE'. I looked around, trying to find any clue of who did this. Something like a figure was running down the dark and deserted driveway so, without thinking, I started running down the stairs and after them. Why, oh why does my brain never catch up with my body, or interfere? Because now I am running after a figure, though it could just be my eyes playing tricks on me, alone in the dark, cold and horrible night. They turned a sharp left, and by the time I could take in my surroundings I was already in the woods - where? I have absolutely no clue. When my brain slowly starts taking over I start to slow down to think about how me and my curiosity were going to get me in trouble. AGAIN.

You know what they say "curiosity killed the cat". I guess I, in this situation, am the cat and not only is my curiosity going to kill me, but a maniac killer who already savagely murdered my parents.

Great. Nice going Annah. Go give yourself a pat on the back. You got yourself in more trouble, only this time no one is going to be here to save me.

Suddenly, I felt breathing against my neck snapping me out of my thoughts. It was heavy and hot in contrast to the thin and freezing air of July.

The hairs on the back of my neck stand on edge and my breathing quickens - along with my heartbeat.

"Your life will end just like your parents, but only when everyone you care about suffers" he hissed. Wait. I know that voice. I have hears that voice before, I am sure. They are just on the tip of my tongue but I cannot quite grasp it.

"If you turn around while I walk away you will regret it very much, so please, do NOT."

And with that, he walked away.

I tried to turn my head only slightly to take a peek. Suddenly I felt a shooting pain travel up my arm, leaving my arm numb. I felt dizzy and found it hard to stay upright on my feet.

"I told you not to look, s now you forget about everything I just told you and will be scared as hell when you figure out I'm coming for you. If you kept your curiosity in check, you would remember the warning that I gave you, so happy sleeping." He finished. Before my dizziness fully kicked in, I thought to myself ' and I wouldn't be stuck in the woods with a maniac killer.

As I slid down the tree trunk, all of my surroundings blurred and I was left by myself to have one of the most painful, and scary nightmares - all of them coming one after the other.

All of them with this hooded figure, threatening, torturing, and tormenting me. Telling me the same things "You can't hide from me", "Your brother 'Matt' is next", "I will get you when you least expect it", "I have connections EVERYWHERE" and "You will get what you deserve."
