As soon as I had the house to myself Saturday morning, I cleared the breakfast dishes off the kitchen table and made room for my textbooks. English, world history, biology. Arming myself with a brand-new number two pencil, I flipped open the top textbook and went to work. Fifteen minutes later my mind rebelled refusing to digest another paragraph. Sighing, I stood up stretching as my phone goes off, I jump in surprise. Mom and dad just left, who would it be, looking at the text it was an unknown number.

Hey, Morning!! It's Mia from school!! The reason I'm texting you is cuz I accidentally have your planner, I think ours got switched. If you're not doing anything wanna hang out?

After reading the text I reach back into my backpack realizing that our planners did get switched. I was a bit surprised, hers was full of color and doodles, I should have noticed that this was hers. I reread the text, wondering if we should hang out, she was looking for her planner, I guess it's okay. I send a quick text to my parents than one to Mia.

Sure.

Less than a blink of an eye my phone goes off again.

Let's meet in 10 min. at the Starbucks's on third, see ya then!!

Not knowing what to write back I nod to my phone. I put away my books on my bookshelf in my room, then I get out of my comfy sweats and sweatshirt into a red plaid skirt and black tank top. Getting a smaller bag I slip on my cute black snickers, leaving the house. A few more than five minutes I was waiting outside of the Starbucks, looking at the sky I was scared out of my skin when Mia jumps on my back.

" Hey, friend!" She says as she does so, my heart takes hard beats as I try to calm down. " You look super cute!" She adds I couldn't help but to smile. "Come on follow me!" She says as she pulls my hand as she behinds to walk. A few blocks down Adam was waiting at a street light leaning against it looking up to the sky. Mia does the same thing to him that she did to me, surprised to see each other we just stand a few steps away from each other looking at each other till he smiled.

"Hey," Naomi says as she approaches us.

"Now that we're all here... What are we going to do?" Mia says as we sorta form a circle, we all share glances. Naomi's face lights up and we all give her our attention.

" How about we go to the mall... get something to eat, then go to the beach?" She says in an excited soft voice, she must be really shy.

" That souls pretty well," Andre says and everyone nods.

" What about money...?" I ask wondering how we are going to pay for anything, just as I ask my phone buzzes.

Dear, could you bring and apple to my work quickly, I know your hanging with friends but it's for a presentation.

Dad says in a text, I write back that I would.

" Hey, I have to go..." I say and Adam asks why. " My father needs as apple for a prediction at his work, and he forgot it, I guess it's happening soon so I have to get an apple," I answer Naomi points to a shop down a few shops.

" I'll but that apple, so we can all go together," Naomi says, I shake my head no but she starts to walk to the shop, she buys a few apples, ignoring what I have to say.

" Where does your dad work?" Mia asks as Naomi's handed the bag, which Adam takes from her.

" I think on Lincoln, it's a really tall gray building, I only passed it once. But I know his on the 27 floor." I say then Mia flags down the bus and we all get on. Our trip to Lincoln was short, we enter the big lobby. The lobby is classy in the most unclassy way possible. It has all the corporate taste for opulent items without the slightest touch of personality; those little out of sync items that make decor 'human.' Maybe that's deliberate. It could be that in this chaotic world we are attracted to spaces devoid of such things. A tall man in a really nice tux that suited him walk over to us.
