A World Divided

Chapter I

Sorry for the wait, couldn't think of anything to write. Also this chapter is kinda boring but it'll get better just wait and finally I will be making more regular updates to the story rather then writing a new chapter every couple weeks.

"Take him." Said a man in white robes in a hushed tone. "He'll be safer with you than if he was with me." He gave the woman standing next to him something wrapped in cloth. "I love you." The woman said as a tear ran down the side of her face. "I love you too but now is not the time for tears, you must go before they find where we are. Now go!" Just as the woman began to run she was frozen in place, unable to move at all. "Too late now Aegis." A figure shrouded in darkness emerged from thin air. "I simply cannot allow this female or her filthy mutt child to live, and the same goes for you traitor." With that he shot a black ball of flame towards the woman. "Skybolt!" Yelled Aegis as lightning struck the flame, causing it to dissipate. "You'll have to work harder than that if you want to harm her or my child. Now goodbye Laura, keep Calvin safe." Aegis muttered something under his breath and then Laura along with the child vanished.

"Calvin time to wake up!" Rang his mom's voice through the house. What a strange dream Calvin thought to himself as he did his morning routine. He put on the country's boy uniform which consisted of a plain white collared shirt, khaki pants, and black dress shoes. Anyone male who did not follow this dress code could be charged $10,000 or thrown in prison for 10 years. It didn't bother Calvin though since he was used to it by now. He went over to the kitchen where his mom was making breakfast for him, the usual pancakes and bacon, which was the only food allowed for breakfast. Lucky for him his mom made the best breakfast in all of Zyton. "So how did you sleep Calvin?" His mother asked, that's how she always started their conversations in the morning. "It was good but I had a really weird dream." Calvin replied, waiting for his mother to ask what was it about. "You had a dream? You know we're aren't allowed to dream, we'll have to go to the pharmacy later and get you some anti-dream medication" His mother seemed deathly serious about something as small getting anti-dream medicine. "Anyways what was you dream about?" She asked in much more soothing tone. "There was some guy dressed in white and he was giving this lady something wrapped up in cloth but then some other guy came and stopped the lady from leaving. Here comes the weird part though, the guy that stopped the lady from leaving seemed to shoot fire from his hands like he was using magic or-" "Calvin!" His mother yelled. "You know talk about magic is strictly prohibited, do not ever use that word again." That soothing tone was completely lost when she said that, replaced with a stern one. "Yes mam. Calvin replied. Back to the dream though, so the second guy shot fire but then the first guy sent lighting to stop the fire from hitting the lady and then the lady along with whatever she was holding disappeared." "Once you're done with your breakfast let's go get that medicine." Then his mother left to her room appearing to not have listened to Calvin's dream at all.
