Regina died instead of Robin when Hades tried to kill him, knowing it would take away all of Regina's happiness. She comes back as a ghost, finding Robin still locked in her house.
He walked down the stairs, searching for food. Robin had locked himself away in Regina's house, hiding from the rest of the town. Every time he would go out he would see the town hall and think of that terrible night.
"This won't just kill you, it will end you. Loving Regina makes you her happy ending, and I am destroying that. By ending you, it will cause her heart to break in so many different pieces that it will kill her. Then when she dies, she will not be with you, for you won't be where she ends up, for you do not exist anymore. You will vanish from existence. Forever." Hades raises the Olympus Crystal, pointing it at Robin. He knew Zelena would push him away for this, remembering everything that happened with her and Regina when they were younger. Hades cocked his head when he heard a door on the first floor open. Then, patters of feet running up the stairs. Regina was coming to save her theif. If she got in his way, he would just have to kill her as well. "Robin!" Regina yelled, seeing him in front of Hades. "Say goodbye for good, Regina." Hades said, raising the Crystal that last inch. He focused all of his power into it, channeling it to activate. Regina saw what was happening and ran in front of Robin. The blue magic that burst from the end of the Crystal hit her heart as soon as she stood in front of Robin. "Regina! What have you done?" Robin yelled, seeing her turn around while clutching her chest. She looked into his eyes, whispering "I love you" as she started falling. Her soul was still in the air, smiling at him. "I love you too." He said, wrapping his arm around the blue particles that used to be his soulmate. When his arms clasped in front of him, the particles vanished into thin air. A single tear ran down his cheek, quickly followed by more, the tears never stopping when he reached down to her lifeless body. "Hades? What have you done?" Zelena asked, walking into Regina's office. "He was trying to kill me. Regina saw and jumped in front of me when he used that bloody Crystal." Robin's tears flooded his face. His beautiful soulmate, bestfriend, lover, partner in crime, was gone because of Hades. "He killed her. He was going to kill me, but she sacrificed herself for me. He ended her, whatever that means. But that's what true love is, sacrificing yourself for the one you love. Regina is gone because of him." Robin said, now yelling. Zelena looked at him, then at her dead sister's body. "You did this?" She asked Hades, who nodded in shame. "If he didn't die, Regina could never love you. Now she's dead. I'm so sorry Zelena. I love you, I hope you know that." He tried to take her hand, but she backed away. "We can be together now. Nothing is going to stop us." Zelena replied by yelling, "You are going to stop us. You just killed my beloved sister, the one I only met a year ago, yet I had a childhood memory with her. She wanted to redeem me. Even wanted to help you. But now she can't. Because you'll be dead along with her." She took the Olympian Crystal from his hand and stabbed him with it. Hades chocked on his breath, shocked that she was doing this. His body shook violently, the life leaving his body. Soon, he crumbled into dust. Zelena fell onto her knees, sobbing. Her pain must be nothin compared to Robin's. He just watched his true love and soulmate die. Zelena crawled over to him, hugging him in an attempt to comfort him. He looked up at her and nodded, feeling her pain as well. The two sat their until dawn, crying. Snow and Charming had found him curled up against Regina's corpse. Everything has changed that night, leaving Robin forever scarred.
He shook his head, remembering that horrid night. He hadn't slept in a week, hadn't even let Henry in the house to collect his things. Henry was moving in with Emma and Killian now that his adoptive mother was gone. Robin had just packed all of Henry's things up the next day and set them out on the porch in boxes. As he opened the fridge, Robin heard a noise coming from the upstairs bathroom. He slowly closed the refrigerator door, listening to the noise that was growing in volume. He snuck up the stairs, careful not to disturb whatever was making the noise. When he reached the bathroom, he saw nothing, but heard a lot. Scurrying around the room, seeming to be trying to open one of the drawers, whatever the source was. He slowly opened the one that was rattling, not knowing what else to do. Then he saw it. A silhouette of a woman, one that looked a lot like Regina. The figure was trying to open the red lipstick, and he knew it then. "Regina?" He asked, shocked. The figure turned toward him, whispering, "Yes, Robin?" Robin fell back, passing out from the shock.
