“What do you think they’re doing?” I asked Nathan, as I pointed to the door that Avery and Tyler just flew out of.
“Ty said he really needed to talk to her, I guess about her boyfriend.” Nathan muttered, shrugging his shoulders.
“Korrine, Alyx, did you see that?”
“Avery and Tyler? They’re totally going to make out again.” Alyx stated, like it was a known fact.
Korrine’s eyes widened. “Alyx! You don’t know that.”
“Oh, please. We all know they both like each other, from what I heard, the kiss told it all last night.”
“But what about her boyfriend?” I asked.
Derek answered back at me, instead of Alyx saying, “Tyler said he has never felt that way kissing a girl, and to say the least he’s not an inexperienced boy.”
“Who even asked you?” Alyx snarled, rolling her eyes.
“The conversation was loud enough for the whole table to hear, I was just giving my input.” He replied coolly.
“Well next time it would be better for you to keep your mouth shut, not like anyone cares about your ‘input’.”
With all the snide comments and harsh remarks Alyx made towards Derek, it made me really wonder what happened last night at the bonfire. So far Derek had been extremely nice to Alyx, and everyone else for that matter. But it seemed as if Alyx just wouldn’t give him a chance.
“Ok, anyways,” Nathan said, ignoring the obvious tension between Alyx and Derek, “it’s nearly 10 o’clock, we’re all supposed to be at the gym for practice at 10:45 and none of us are even dressed.
“I almost forgot about practice,” Korrine sighed. She had been spacing out all morning, and last night as well. I had been meaning to ask her what was up, I guess I would soon.
“Well, let’s go find Avery and get changed.” I stated, hugging Nathan’s neck and motioning to the door while Alyx pushed in front of me, she did not like being the follower.
“Ooh, there she is!” Korrine pointed to the beach, where Avery was standing, talking to Tyler.
“I’m glad she got to talk to them. But, let’s let them have some privacy. Avery knows we have practice.” I mumbled, knowing that Alyx wanted nothing more than to go busting up in Avery and Tyler’s discussion and end their talk. I wasn’t going to let her ruin whatever was going on between Avery and Tyler, especially since she tried so hard to make things awkward between Korrine and Hayden.
“I hope she finally made her mind up,” Alyx huffed. “It’s such a waste of a hot body if Avery is just leading Tyler on.”
“Why do you care?” Korrine rolled her eyes.
“Tyler’s hott, and he deserves better than to be played like a drum by a girl that has a boyfriend.” She spat back.
They went back and forth a few more times before I had finally had enough. “Enough! I am sick of you two bickering every minute you’re around each other! Alyx, shut up and find a boy that isn’t interested in one of your roommates. And Korrine, please for my sake, IGNORE HER.” Alyx’s eyes widened. “If she says something rude, be the mature one and don’t say anything at all. Do you two understand me?!” they both shook their heads slowly. “Now let’s go change.” I walked happily to the dorm in silence, which was much better than them bickering.
When we reached the dorm, Avery was already changing into her short-sleeved white uniform top and black spandex. “How did you get here so fast? We saw you on the beach talking to Tyler when we left the café.” Alyx stated as we walked in.
