Chapter 4

I went to the mess hall and sat at one of tables. Oh my god so much has happened in the last few days I can't believe it. I thought to myself. And now see wants me to meet her at the showers. I keep thinking to myself. Should I really meet her in the showers or should I just not show up. But she said If I didn't listen to her she would do something bad to me. I was just getting up to take a walk around when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around expecting to see Annie but instead I saw some other girl I had never really seen before.

"Um can I help you?" I asked while looking at the girl to see she seemed very nervous.

"Um y-yea hi I j-just.. wanted to say...." She stopped and looked down. "I just w-wanted to say you look very nice today." She barely got the last few words out before hiding her face in her hands and taking off running.

I stood there watching her run off and saw three people standing there who I could only assume were her friends. They all want behind the corner and I could hear faint whispers but couldn't make out what they were saying. It still took me a few seconds for what had just happened to register in my head. Does that mean she has a crush on me? I thought to myself. Oh god if she does what is Annie gonna do about that. I walked to the forest nearby and found a nice tree and sat down with my back up against it. I sat against the tree thinking. Well I still have like an hour and thirty minutes until Annie wanted me to meet her. I thought. For about ten minutes I sat there but I kept having this feeling of someone watching me. I closed my eyes and tried to tell myself that I was just getting paranoid. But after a few minutes I heard a twig snap. I sat up and looked around until I just barely saw a peek of someone's face around a tree.

"Hey whose there?" I called but no one answered. "I know someone's there just show yourself."

Slowly someone stepped out from behind the tree and I quickly saw that it was the girl from earlier.

"Hey what are you doing here?" I asked as I stood up.

"Oh n-nothing I just saw you walking this way and you looked troubled so I decided to follow you." She looked down and twiddled her thumbs nervously. "Oh and be the way my names Dawn and sorry I ran off like that earlier I was just really nervous."

"It's ok, Dawn that's a nice name."

"Thank you." She said while blushing a little.

"Hey wanna sit down and we could talk a little? Oh and my names Armin."

"S-sure."

She then walked over and sat on the ground next to me. I could tell she was really nervous and from that I deducted that she probably has a crush on me.

"Hey I haven't seen you around did you just join the cadets?" I asked while sitting back down.

"Yea me and my friends just joined we are all planning on joining the garrison regiment together."

"Oh ok yea I thought I didn't know your face."

"Yea I am new here and just found out it is different then I thought it would be."

"Oh how did you think it would be like."

And after that we talked there under the tree for quite sometime before I realized I should get back to Eren and Mikasa.

"Hey sorry I got to go." I said while slowly standing up. "I should get back to my friends I said I would be back a while ago and don't want them to get worried."

"Oh ok." She said while getting up. "It was nice meeting someone new."

"Yea it was nice."

"Yea it was."

"Well I better go don't want my friends to get worried."

"Ok I guess I will see you latter then."

"Yea I'll see you latter."

I turned around and started to slowly walk away.

"Bye Armin." I heard her call behind me.

"Bye Dawn." I called back.

As I was walking back to the training area I started thinking. I could have sworn that someone was staring at me and Dawn talking every once in a while. I just shrugged it off as I saw Eren and Mikasa walking towards me.

"Hey Armin where have you been?" Eren said while walking up to me.

"Hey Eren sorry I found out about this new girl that just joined the cadets in hope of joining the garrison regiment."

"Oh really come to think of it I thought I had seen a few people around that I didn't recognize."

"Yea she said her and a few of her friends joined."

"What's her name?"

"She said her name was Dawn."

"Dawn huh, that's a pretty cool name."

"I know that's what I said to."

"Guys it's getting late." Mikasa said will looking up. "We should get to bed soon."

"Yea you are right Mikasa." Eren said while also looking up.

"Ok then let's go Eren I guess we will see you tomorrow Mikasa."

"Yea see you tomorrow Mikasa."

With that me and Eren walked towards the bunk house for guys while Mikasa turned and went towards the girl bunk house.

"So Armin about that girl Dawn?" Eren asked while we were walking.

"Yea what about her?" I replied.

"Did anything about her seem off to you."

"What do you mean off?"

"Like something wasn't normal like she was nervous or something."

"Yea now that you mention it she was kinda nervous at first but once we started talking she seemed to not be as nervous."

"Yea cause I have seen her around a little bit and she always seems to be looking at you."

"Really I haven't really noticed anything like that."

"Yea she always seems to want to be in a area you are in."

We got to the bunk house and stood at the door.

"Ok we can talk more about this tomorrow ok." I said.

"Ok sure thing buddy."

With that me and Eren both walked in to the bunk house and got in to bed. Thinking about my encounter with Dawn earlier a little more. I swear I saw someone's face pop out from around a tree a few times. I really hope Annie wasn't there watching us. Because I know if she knew about me and Dawn taking like that and Dawn having a crush on me that it would not end well for Dawn. I was lost in thought and slowly drifted to sleep.
