The blinding light above me put dots in my eyes and my nose itched from the smell of cleaning alcohol.

"Now it will be fine" my mother said in a soothing but hesitant voice.

"Why do I have to do this!" I scream "you lied to me an-" she cut me off.

"Do it for James" she said in a desperate voice. "He wouldn't want to see you like this."

"Don't bring James into this mom!" I yell. "Just because he killed himself doesn't mean he can be an excuse for all of your problems!"

She glared at me and said with a furious whisper, "Don't you dare talk about your brother that way."

The doctor walked over. "Well if you ladies are done bickering" he said in an exhausted voice,"we can get started."

Mother trudged away and sank down into one of the chairs on the side of the room
