*Nathan's POV*
"Yes I'm on my way," I said irritated while locking the door, my phone tucked between my ear and my shoulder.
"Really? Because it sounds like you just left," Jack said, annoyed, on the other line.
I grabbed my phone and walked out to the car, "Literally same thing Jack. I'll be there in like ten minutes, I've gotta go get a six-pack real quick before I head over."
"Hurry, I need help with the grill. I just got this new one and it's like yours and I can't figure it out."
I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see it, "Jack it's common sense. I'll see you soon bye," I hung up before he could argue and got in the car.
I drove to the gas station down the street to get beer, then headed over to Jack and Madison's house. As soon as I got out of my car, the front door of the house burst open and Hayley came running out at top speed for a toddler, followed by a frazzled Madison.
"Uncle Nathan!" she yelled excited.
I reached down and picked her up, smiling, "Hey kid, how are you?"
She knit her eyebrows together in thought, "I'm two," she nodded matter-of-factly.
"That's great," I chuckled and got my stuff out of the back seat, still holding her and gave Madison a one-armed hug before handing a squirming Hayley back to her.
"Jack's out back cursing his new grill," Madison shook her head and laughed as she walked back up to the house.
I rolled my eyes and walked in behind her, "He's gonna be fine, we all know it."
She laughed, "Oh we know it," she gestured between the three of us, "Jack, however, does not. So if you could go give him a hand, that'd be great. And Paige is on her way!" She shouted as I walked on my way out.
I laughed and nodded already on my way to the back yard and walked outside.
Jack turned when he heard the door open, "You're finally here, I can't figure this damn thing out."
"Oh move over," I laughed and took over.
