Prologue
The day I realized that I love Caleb, was the day he went missing. I can still remember it clearly, I was laying on my bed listening to the radio while a love song came up and all I could think of was him, sappy I know, but that was what I really felt. My heart beating fast was enough to send me running out the door and go straight to his house.
"This is it." I thought. "I'm gonna give him my answer."
I don't know how many seconds it took me to get to his house, which was three houses from mine, but all I know was my heart would burst if I wouldn't be able to tell him that I love him. I knocked impatiently and no one answered, that went on for 3 minutes until I remembered that Caleb would probably be sleeping, knowing him for more than 8 years, I know that even the loudest knock wouldn't wake him.
I lifted his welcome mat, typical, get his spare key and proceed to open his front door. I had my biggest smile on me and was ready to give him the shock of his life.
But I think I spoke too soon.
My eyes almost bulged out and I can hear my heart beat in my ears.
His whole house were thrashed. Furnitures were broken, papers and pieces of clothing where scattered on the floor. But what bothered me the most were the drops of blood on his carpeted floor.
I was holding the knob of the door for support. But it wasn't as tough as I thought it was before, because it didn't keep me from falling to my knees and crying.
