"I hate you." She said, hate lacing her words. I winced slightly.
"One question, Zoeybird." I said.
"Don't call me that." She said evenly.
"Understood." She eyed me.
"I have two questions... but one is for my benefit while the other is just pure curiosity." She said. I raised a brow.
"And there's difference?"
"Don't push me." She warned. I just laughed. Goddess, I loved her. If only she knew that. Yeah. As if she would trust me.
"I'm a vampyre. You're a fledgling. What exactly can you do?" I taunted. She narrowed her eyes in concentration. I felt exhaustion wash over her and, still curled up in a ball, she laid down, causing Nala to jump up off the pillow and grumble at her.
Her eyes fell shut and sat down on the edge of her bed.
"Zoey?" I asked softly. I gently touched her arm. I ran my nail against my wrist and held it close to her face. I knew she wouldn't be able to resist it.
She opened her eyes and looked up at me.
"No fair." She breathed before she latched onto me. She moaned and wrapped her arm around me, pulling me closer. I wrapped my other arm around her, a smile on my face. I knew she hated me. I knew she wanted nothing to do with me. But that wouldn't stop me from loving her.
I could feel her desire, her want, her need. Her... love? I shook my head, knowing that was the last thing she felt.
"Zoey." I whispered. She looked up at me. "That's enough. You need to let go." She closed her eyes and let go. She quickly sealed the wound shut. She slowly pulled away from me and laid back down on the bed.
"Are you okay, Zoey?" I asked, concerned.
"And you care... why?" She murmured. I smiled.
"I don't know. That's one question." He said.
"Not fair." She said quietly.
"Life isn't fair." I said. She frowned.
"Damn straight." She whispered.
"Zoey... I really am sorry." I said, trying to get her to believe me. She opened her eyes and looked up at me. She sighed.
"It doesn't really matter... Loren." She said., hesitating before she said my name. "In the end, everyone still hates me, I'm still alone, and... and I still hurt. In more ways than one." I couldn't help but laugh at that before I managed to cover it with a cough. She glared at me.
"I'm sorry." I said. "I didn't think that you were a virgin, Zoey." She just gaped at him.
"I can't believe you just said that." She said, shock flowing through her.
"Well, you have tons of guys swarming around you 24/7." I said innocently. She hissed under her breath.
"What in the hell does this have to do with me hurting?" She asked, mortified. I grinned.
"That's why you hurt. Because you were a virgin." I said simply. She shuddered.
"Ew." She said. "Just... ew." I just couldn't pass it up then.
"Really? 'Cause... it didn't seem so ew to you while you were screwing with me." I said nonchalantly.
She threw the covers over her head and I just laughed.
"I'm sorry, Z. That was just too good to pass up." I said once I, somewhat, composed myself. She glared at me and I shrugged.
"You are such an ass." She said, her face still red. I just laughed again and she smiled and shook her head. She closed her eyes, exhaustion settling over her.
