I wanna be your heavens eye,
shining all around you.
I wanna be your sweet sigh,
swirling into you.
If you like you tea green,
I'll have a cup, I'm keen.
You go call, to the shining jewels,
but I wanna be yours.
I wanna be your beating heart,
helping you to live.
I wanna be your moving cart,
keeping you from buzzing hives.
Let me be your avenging guard,
I will stop you from getting scarred.
You go calling to the bright angels,
but I wanna be yours.
I wanna be your blanket,
keeping you tucked in.
I wanna be your casket,
a box to hold your valuables.
Pure as pure white snow,
my devotion is pure, it vibrates with a glow.
You go calling to nature,
but I wanna be yours.
First of all, I hope you enjoyed this poem. The title 'I wanna be yours' and the poem structure is by John Cooper Clarke, a famous poet you may have heard of. In school we had to write an interpretation in his style, and I decided to put it on Watt pad to see what everyone thinks of it. At the start, when I say 'heaven's eye' I mean the sun which in Shakespearean times was known in that name. The way I have interpreted Clarke's poem, is that there is a guy who wishes to be with his love forever, and wants to protect her and keep her away from harm. He doesn't care if she isn't perfect, he can not live if the love is unrequited. The band Arctic Monkey's also interpreted Clarke's poem into a song, which is on YouTube if you want to watch it.
