It is a fanfic based on Harry Potter. The setting is the 6th year of Amelia, who is in the same year as Harry, Ron, Hermine, and Draco. I own nothing of Harry Potter except my own character and ideas surrounding her (Amelia Riddle). Thanks and I hope you enjoy! I will try to update as much as possible. All comments will be greatly appreciated! Peace, Love, Dinos <3

Prologue-

Amelia sighs as she sits on her single bed, listening to the soft rain on her bedroom window. Being the only girl in the orphanage with her own room was both a gift and a curse. Though she did not have to worry about someone constantly trying to be your friend but at times, sitting in the darkness, listening to the other children play could become lonely. Amelia shook her head and thought quickly to herself, 'No, no more moping around. I must do something productive.' Since the car wreck, Amelia had been plundged into a world of darkness and lonesomeness. Although she knew it wasn't the other childrens faults, after all, Amelia had been the one to cut herself off from any type of friendly gesture. She simply didn't want the pity everyone gave the petite girl who had lost both her vision and her mother. This however was not as bad since the past month when Amelia discovered she had special abilities. One night, while Amelia read her brail addition of Wuthering Heights, a soft hissing sound came from below her bed. Cocking her head to the side she found she could distiguish the soft hissing into words.

"Hello?" she called hesitantly. She hadn't heard anyone enter her room. Since she had gone blind, her other senses had become more acute and she would know if someone was heading towards her room and whether or not they were female or male and whether it was a child or adult. For some of the women that ran the orphanage, Amelia could even distiquish their unique sound and smell. This may seem creepy to some, but for Amelia it has become one of the few ways she can tell what was going on around her. The hissing came again but this time, it was words that Amelia could understand.

"Helloo...Youu can undersssstand meee?" the quiet hissing asked, seemingly shocked. Amelia simply nodded before she managed out a shaky ,"Y-yes..Who are you?" A hiss-like chuckle neared her and Amelia could hear a soft slithering as the voice neared her. Suddenly, cool scales brushed her arm.

"My name isss Ssslink. I am a snake." the voice, Slink, replied in her ear. While most people would be terrified to not only have a snake on their arm but also being able to understand what it was saying. Not Amelia, however, she could sense that Slink had no intention of harming her.

Since that day, Slink and Amelia had become close friends, Slink acting as Amelia's eyes and keeping her company. Shaking herself from her memories, Amelia felt the small coil around her arm stir.
