Chapter 1

"Brush your teeth and come downstairs to eat breakfast!" Said Ryan's mom. It was quite unusual that his mom would call him for breakfast, when his mom is usually at work at this time, which was 7:02AM. Ryan has a little "waking up" celebration every morning which was looking out his room window. It was always a beautiful, golden summer sky. He then went downstairs to see his brother, Dallas, and his parents. First person that talked to him was his mom; short brown hair, almost six feet tall, chubby brown eyebrows, and of course, her weird fashion design that she would wear everyday; a blue neon looking scarf, with a light green top and a furry blue hat that she would wear outside. Her winter jacket was black with grey lines on it, but he hadn't seen that in a while, since it was summer.

Ryan's dad was sitting on a kitchen counter stool, with his black Beattles shirt, and weird hair from yesterday's jell that he put in his hair. He hadn't showered yet, because his work only started at 8:30AM, so he would sit down and watch any football highlights on the kitchens TV for about half an hour, then would go shower, dress up, put new jell in his hair, and close the door behind him.

"Ryan, tonight, Dallas will teach you the things that you have missed in math since you were feeling sick that day--"

"MOM! Why do I have to teach him? Can't Mr. Wedden do it himself?" Said Dallas after stopping his mom in the middle of her sentence.

"Don't complain with your mother, Dallas! You know that I told you that yesterday and that you--"

"Hold on, I missed a day of school without even knowing? When did I miss a day of school?" Said Ryan.

"Come on Ryan! Don't be a smart butt with your mom! You know you missed a day!" Said Dallas.

"That's it, go to the bus stop even if it is too early! I don't want to see you children anymore! You two act like monsters everyday! Everyday!" Said Mel, Ryan's mom once again.

Ryan didn't know what they were talking about. If he had missed a day, why wouldn't he know about it? He thought that he would have to question himself that all day, because something was different in his family. He didn't know if they had found out about his Pokemon cards he played with in math class, or if his rudeness to his enemies in his class during he was suppose to do work. But something was up, and Ryan knew it.

"Hey fool! What's up with the weird face? Did you get. Bullied by someone else other than me? Well if that is the case then, I don't care!" Said Todd, a bully on Ryan's bus. He was 3 years older then Ryan, which made him in Grade 8.

"Leave the poor guy alone, Todd! He never did anything to you!" Said Sarah, one of the prettiest girls in their school.

Sarah had long blonde hair, Ryan's same grade, and always had beautiful eyes. Her eyes were usually dark green and shiny, but sometimes were a nice golden color of somekind, that Ryan had never seen before.

"Sorry about Todd, he probably just is jealous of you. So, don't mind it. Just go with it. Nothing bad will happen unless you mess with him,'' said Sarah with a very low voice, so low that Ryan was the only one that could hear her.

''Thanks, Sarah.''

''No problem! Any questions, ill answer them to you!'' Said Sarah in the same low voice earlier, but to Ryan, it seemed even more quiet then the last time.

''Well, I have one question,'' said Ryan.

''Ask away!''.

''Why are your eyes so gold looking sometimes?'' asked Ryan.

Sarah gave him an awkward look, then looked around, and never answered his question. This was awkward to Ryan. Why would she not answer such a simple question?

Chapter 2

''I might've failed my science quiz today, mom...'' said Ryan.

'' It's okay, it's only one test. You'll get a better one soon.'' said Mel.

''But mom, this is the third quiz in a row that I fail! I was hoping you tell me something like, No way! That is terrible! I'll help you try again for studying.''

''Not in the mood,'' said Mel.

''What is with everyone these days? Do I have a booger on my face that I don't know about? It's like I'm being ignored, and I don't want that to happen! I was even trying to talk to a nice, and pretty girl, named Sarah today about her gold shiny eyes but she then just--''

''Wait, shiny gold eyes?'' Said Mel by cutting Ryan off.

''Well, yeah. so?''

Then, there was a long minute of silence in the room. Ryan was expecting Mel to answer, but she never did. She had a weird look in her eye, and all of a sudden, It seemed to Ryan like his moms eyes glowed gold too. exactly the same color as Sarah's eyes.

''Your eyes just went gold like Sarah's today. How?'' Said Ryan.

''No-No-Nothing. Just go in your room please. Go do your homework.''

Ryan didn't even answer. He just went upstairs and did his homework.

The next day, Ryan needed to know why Sarah's eyes and Mel's eyes both glowed gold.

''Can you please tell me why your eyes glowed yesterday?'' Asked Josh.

1 minute of silence again, and Ryan did not like it.

''Answer the question!''

''Your a Grondek. Grondek Mortal. You don't know it but, your eyes shine gold too.'' Said Sarah.

''What? What's a Grondek Mortal?'' asked Ryan.

''I will only tell you one thing, and that is you have more power then any human.''

Sarah then got off the bus, and looked at him with her shiny golden eyes.
