The medicine cabinet was slung open with pill bottles all over the sink. A glass full of water had been knocked off of the counter onto the floor and shattered. There were empty pill bottles on the floor with pills slung everywhere. There was vomit all over the toilet and bath mat. The curtain of the shower had been pulled down into the tub. James' leg was sticking out.
I quickly put my gun away and ran to the tub. I pulled the curtain off of James and had Mike help me pick him up. We pulled him out of the bathroom and into the bare living room. We lied him on the floor and Mike called for an ambulance.
The ambulance came quickly and the medics put James onto the stretcher and into the back of the ambulance. Mike and I jumped in our cars following it to the hospital.
